Chris Kreider registered a goal and an assist in Game 5 and coach Alain Vigneault has been impressed by his play so soon after he returned from a hand injury. Vigneault said: "He really takes care of himself physically and the fact that for close to seven weeks he couldn't stickhandle, couldn't do anything, obviously it was a challenge for him, but that's as good as I've seen anybody respond that hasn't had a full team practice and stepping in and coming in and playing." He returned to the lineup on Wednesday for the first time since Mar. 24.
