Chris Kreider registered a goal and an assist in Game 5 and coach Alain Vigneault has been impressed by his play so soon after he returned from a hand injury.
Vigneault said: "He really takes care of himself physically and the fact that for close to seven weeks he couldn't stickhandle, couldn't do anything, obviously it was a challenge for him, but that's as good as I've seen anybody respond that hasn't had a full team practice and stepping in and coming in and playing." He returned to the lineup on Wednesday for the first time since Mar. 24.

Chris Kreider logged 15:24 minutes in his return from a broken hand.
It was Kreider's first game since March 24. He ended up with no points and a minus-one rating in the Rangers' 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday. "Good one shift, rusty the next, good one shift, rusty the next," Kreider said of his play. "There were definitely some things that I got out of my game early in the season that crept back in."

Chris Kreider will draw into the Rangers lineup for Game 4 on Wednesday night for the first time since suffering a broken hand on March 25.
Kreider's return comes just under six weeks since undergoing surgery on his left hand, and the Rangers should receive a big boost from the 22 year old who notched 17 goals and 37 points through 66 games this season. Pittsburgh counters with the return of big defenseman Brooks Orpik, back from five games on the shelf.

Chris Kreider (hand) participated in Wednesday's morning skate.
Kreider has been medically cleared, so he might play Wednesday, but Rangers coach Alain Vigneault is still calling him "day-to-day." Of course, this is the playoffs and coaches typically aren't particularly open about their plans during the postseason.

Chris Kreider (hand) has been cleared medically, but is still day-to-day.
Kreider hasn't played since March 24. The Rangers have been shutout of back-to-back games and consequently trail Pittsburgh 2-1 in the second round series.

Chris Kreider (hand) is still a possibility to return before the end of the second round.
Kreider has been skating and will consult with a doctor in the near future. "I think we're going to know here in a short time frame here," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said. "I don't know what short is, a day or a couple." He hasn't played since March 24.

Chris Kreider (hand) practiced again on Sunday in a non-contact jersey.
Krieder continues to improve as he gets closer to a return to action. He has been able to get more strength into his shot and that bodes well as he had little strength after his hand surgery. It's unknown whether or not Kreider will be able to return during the playoffs but obviously the further the Rangers go, the better chance there is.

Chris Kreider (hand) skated in a non-contact jersey and did some stickhandling excercises Saturday.
At least that's a step in the right direction for Kreider. He has been out of action since March 24th with a broken hand. Kreider is hoping to contribute to the Rangers' post-season cause and a prolonged series against the Penguins could help him accomplish that goal.

Chris Kreider remains out indefinitely with a hand injury.
Kreider broke his hand on March 24. There's a chance that he'll be able to return before the end of the Rangers' second round series against Pittsburgh and it would obviously be a nice boost to New York if he did. Kreider had 17 goals and 37 points in 66 games in 2013-14.
