Kreider (hand) was traded to the Ducks from the Rangers on Wednesday along with a 2025 fourth-round pick in exchange for Carey Terrance and a 2025 third-round selection, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Kreider previously had Anaheim on his limited no-trade list, so the veteran forward needed to waive his clause in order to approve the move. Injuries limited the Massachusetts native to just 68 regular-season appearances in 2024-25, which saw him match his career-low point total of 30, previously set during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 campaign. If Kreider can put his injury woes behind him, he should be capable of getting back over the 30-goal and 60-point thresholds and figures to be a lock for the Ducks' top six and No. 1 power-play unit.

Kreider rattled off a number of problems that plagued him throughout the season, but he apparently picked up the hand injury against Buffalo on Feb. 22, missing six games before he was at least healthy enough to return to the lineup. It was a rough season for the 33-year-old winger, who recorded just 30 points in 68 games after having produced 39 goals and 36 helpers in 82 regular-season contests last year.

Kreider had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Kreider made it 2-0 at 4:02 of the third period with a shot over Jonas Johansson's glove from between the circles. He finished the season with two consecutive two-point games, but they were his first since Oct. 19, 2024. Kreider finished the season with 22 goals and eight assists in 68 games in 2024-25. He turns 34 on Apr. 30, and he has two years left on his seven-year, $45.5 million contract (actual salary $5 million per; 15-team no-trade list). The Rangers will undoubtably kick tires on a potential deal for Kreider, especially with limited cap space and contracts due to K'Andre Miller and Will Cuylle. It remains to be seen if the winger can rebound -- those 22 goals are a far cry from his last three seasons of 52, 36 and 39, respectively.

Playmaking has not been much of a thing for Kreider this year -- this was his first multi-assist effort of the campaign. He's produced three goals and three assists over his last 12 outings despite seeing bottom-six minutes for much of that stretch. The winger is at 21 goals, seven helpers, 151 shots on net, 79 hits and a minus-8 rating through 67 appearances.

Kreider scored a goal and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Flyers.

Kreider has three goals and an assist over his last nine contests. That's a decent stretch for him, though it's far from high-end production. The 33-year-old has been limited to 21 goals, five assists, 148 shots on net, 79 hits and a minus-9 rating across 64 outings this season.

Kreider was dropped to the fourth line at even strength but remained part of the power-play mix Wednesday. The winger has four points over 13 contests since returning from an upper-body injury in early March, and that's been with him in a bottom-six role regularly. Despite the struggles this season, he recorded his 10th season of at least 20 goals in the last 11 years. However, he's added just five assists with 144 shots on net, 76 hits and a minus-4 rating over 61 appearances.

Kreider scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Kreider's tally with 35 seconds left in the third period brought the Rangers within a goal, but it ultimately didn't impact the result. This snapped a five-game goal drought for the winger, who has run streaky for much of the campaign. He's at 19 goals, four assists, 136 shots on net, 71 hits and a minus-7 rating through 56 appearances this season. Over half of his goals have come on special teams -- he's scored six power-play tallies and four shorthanded goals.

Kreider scored a shorthanded goal and recorded four shots on goal in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Kreider found the back of the net midway through the second period and evened things up at 3-3 with his goal, but the Blue Jackets would pull away for good after scoring four unanswered goals the rest of the way. The goal was Kreider's first point since returning from an upper-body injury that caused him to miss six games between Feb. 23 and March 5. Kreider has 18 goals and four assists across 50 games this season, so most of his value tends to comes from what he can do in front of the opposing goal.
