Tanguay (jaw) will play Wednesday against the Blackhawks. Tanguay was not listed among Colorado's scratches, so he will return to action after missing the last two games.

Tanguay (fractured jaw) is considered likely to play Wednesday against the Blackhawks, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports. Tanguay appeared set to play Tuesday night in Arizona, but the Avs ended up scratching him after he was still suffering from blurred vision during the team's morning skate. This latest report would seem to indicate that Tanguay's being held out Tuesday was a precautionary measure, so assuming that he's now experiencing some improvement, it looks promising that he'll suit up. The veteran forward is tied with Matt Duchene for the team lead with seven goals on the season.

Tanguay (fractured jaw), who was expected to return to the lineup Tuesday against the Coyotes, will instead miss his second consecutive game, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. After it was indicated a day earlier that Tanguay wouldn't have to miss further time due to the jaw injury, coach Patrick Roy said the forward was still experiencing blurred vision and pain on the side of his head following Tuesday's morning skate. Fortunately, it doesn't sound like the setback is significant for Tanguay at the moment, so with an extra day off, the possibility exists that he could be ready to go when the Avs return home for a game Wednesday versus the Blackhawks.

Tanguay (face) has been cleared by doctors and will play against the Coyotes on Tuesday, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports. Tanguay was hit in the face with a puck in Thursday's game against the Capitals and was forced to miss Colorado's game on Saturday. It was originally feared that he would be out indefinitely, but after further evaluation it was determined that the injury was not long-term. In 20 appearances this season, the 35-year-old winger has seven goals and four assists.

The Avs are labeling Tanguay (facial fracture) as day-to-day reports. It appeared the Avalanche were going with the "out indefinitely" tag with Tanguay after he took a puck to the face Thursday night, but their evaluation Friday evidently showed the injury wasn't severe as expected. He'll still be forced out of action Saturday against the Hurricanes, with his availability in question for the team's next game Tuesday as well.

Tanguay has been ruled out indefinitely with a facial fracture, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports. Coach Patrick Roy noted that Tanguay avoided a fractured jaw in Thursday's loss to the Capitals, but he's still be forced out action for an undetermined length of time as a result of the fracture. The Avs will have to wait and see how much progress Tanguay makes in the next few days before having a clearer idea of when he might return. In any event, it looks like the Avs could be without their leading goal scorer for multiple games.

Tanguay has been diagnosed with a facial fracture and won't play Saturday against the Hurricanes. The Avalanche haven't clarified if the injury will knock Tanguay out of action for multiple games, but he'll be held out for at least one contest while the team continues to assess his condition. The winger, who suffered the injury when he was struck in the face by an Alex Ovechkin shot Thursday against the Capitals, has been one of the few players to live up to expectations in a disappointing season for the Avs. He has seven goals and 11 points over 20 games.

Tanguay suffered a jaw injury during Thursday's loss to Washington and had to leave the contest, the Canadian Press reports. The veteran was hit in the face with an Alex Ovechkin shot, which doesn't sound like fun in the least. Coach Patrick Roy later said the team will know more about Tanguay's injury Friday. As for Thursday's game, Tanguay only saw 7:15 of action and logged a minus-1 rating with no points.

Tanguay netted his seventh goal of the season in Thursday's shootout victory over the Rangers. Elevated to the Avs' top line for the first time all season, Tanguay likely earned his stay there for at least one more game after giving the Avs a short-lived 2-1 lead in the second period. It was the third goal in four games for Tanguay, who leads the team with seven tallies on the campaign.

Tanguay will play alongside Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly in Thursday's game against the Rangers, the Denver Post reports. The Avs' offense has struggled to produce so far this season, so coach Patrick Roy continues to shake up the lineups looking for offense. Tanguay was previously playing with the third line, and leads the team with six goals in 17 games. He should continue to have opportunities to score goals with his new line.
