Tanguay scored his fifth goal of the 2014-2015 season in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Maple Leafs, the Denver Post reports. He scored on a breakaway to tie the game at 2-2, in the second period. Tanguay ended the night with five shots and scored in the shootout as well. His five goals lead the team, and he has eight points in 15 games. Tanguay continues to be a bright spot on what can be seen as a disappointing Avs' season so far.

Tanguay scored a shorthanded goal in Tuesday's shootout loss to the Sharks, pushing his point streak to six games. While he hasn't managed any multi-point games over the course of this streak, the veteran winger now has four goals on his ledger after opening the season with four pointless contests. While he sat out of Monday's practice with foot soreness, it didn't seem to affect him on the ice Tuesday.

Tanguay was held out of Monday's practice with a sore foot, but is expected to play Tuesday against the Sharks, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. The day off from practice essentially amounted to a maintenance day for Tanguay, who will enter Tuesday's contest riding a five-game point streak. With the talented trio of Matt Duchene and Jarome Iginla joining him on the second line and the power play, Tanguay should continue to generate points with regularity if his health remains intact.

Tanguay scored a goal on one of his two shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Panthers on Tuesday. Tanguay got off to a slow start to the season, being held without a point through the first four games, but he's starting to heat up with goals in each of his last three. Coach Patrick Roy considered putting Tanguay on the team's first line in the preseason, and if he can work his way back there, he'd have considerable fantasy value.

Tanguay collected his first point of the season with a goal in the second minute of Thursday's loss to the Senators. Tanguay became a hot waiver wire pickup after he opened the season in a top-six role, and while he still remains tied to Nathan MacKinnon on the second or third line, he's failed to provide the offensive spark the Avs have been looking for. He's mustered only six shots on goal while averaging 16:50 of ice time over five games.

Avs coach Patrick Roy said at Thursday's training camp session that the Tanguay is slated to open the season as the right wing on the first line, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports. If that ends up being the case, it could be a boon for Tanguay, who would be placed alongside Gabriel Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon on a line full of offensive firepower. Even at the tail end of his career, Tanguay has shown an aptitude for collecting points, but staying healthy could prove problematic. Knee and hip issues limited him to 16 games last season, and he also missed a total of 26 contests across the previous two campaigns. There's still plenty of risk with Tanguay, but the prospect of playing with MacKinnon could greatly outweigh it.

Alex Tanguay (hip) was on the ice for Colorado's optional skate on Sunday. He isn't expected to be back in the lineup until next season, but it's a positive sign that he was able to get back on the ice. Tanguay underwent hip surgery in February and he appeared in just 16 games during the regular season.

Alex Tanguay will have surgery on his hip Friday morning and he's expected to miss the rest of the season. The issue with his hip contributed to the knee problem that he had been dealing with of late. The Avalanche had a 15-1 record with Tanguay in the lineup and he had 11 points over that span.

Alex Tanguay (knee) missed Friday's practice. Tanguay will not participate in Saturday's contest. The good news is that the injury isn't believed to be serious at this point and there's a decent chance that he'll be ready when the Olympic break ends.

Alex Tanguay (knee) didn't skate in the morning and missed Thursday's game against Philadelphia. He received treatment instead. Tanguay has missed four straight games since he re-injured his knee.
