Galchenyuk (knee) will join the Habs in Toronto on Thursday night, as the team has a practice scheduled the following morning.
EDGE Analysis
Chucky's been out for the last month (14 games) with his ailment, and his owners are undoubtedly anxious awaiting his return. After all, he's secured nine goals and 14 helpers in just 25 games this season, with those scoring totals made possible by a gaudy 20.0 shooting percentage. There's reason to believe that a more concrete timetable will be established once the team sees how he fares in practice.

Galchenyuk (knee) skated Wednesday, Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Both Galchenyuk and David Desharnais (knee) skated at Montreal's training complex in Brossard, Quebec, while the Habs are on the road. It's the first time either player has been on the ice since suffering the injuries in early December. "They're right on schedule, " said Montreal coach Michel Therrien. Hickey reported that if there are no setbacks, Galchenyuk could be back in the lineup by early February.

Galchenyuk (knee) was not on the team charter to Florida for Wednesday's game against the Lightning, Dave Stubbs of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fantasy owners with shares in Chucky must be champing at the bit for the burgeoning pivot to return, as he managed a jaw-dropping nine goals and 14 helpers in 25 games -- as a complement to eight power-play points -- before the injury. The Canadiens haven't publicized much information about Galchenyuk's progress in rehab, but he skated Tuesday and has at least been on the minds of local reporters as the team embarks on a six-game road trip.

Galchenyuk is listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
No surprises here as the length of Galchenyuk's knee injury essentially mandated that he end up on IR. It remains to see which Canadien will step up in the Milwaukee native's notable absence, but Torrey Mitchell and Tomas Plekanec will get the chance Thursday against the Devils.

Galchenyuk is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks with a knee injury.
EDGE Analysis
The Canadiens are going to be extremely thin up the middle for the foreseeable future, as fellow-pivot David Desharnais is also expected to be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks with a knee injury of his own. It will be equally difficult for fantasy owners to find a suitable replacement for Galchenyuk in their lineups, as the 22-year-old center has been fantastic this season, racking up 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists) in 25 games. Torrey Mitchell and Tomas Plekanec may move into top-six roles while Desharnais and Galchenyuk are on the shelf, but neither can be expected to match the near point-per-game pace Chucky has reached this campaign. Due to his lengthy recovery timetable, it should only be a matter of time until the Habs stash Galchenyuk on injured reserve, which will allow owners in leagues with IR slots to safely store him on their benches while he's in recovery mode.

Galchenyuk will be sidelined indefinitely with a lower-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
According to the team, Galchenyuk underwent testing in St. Louis and will return to Montreal for further evaluation from team doctors. Regardless of how long the center is out, the Canadiens will struggle to replace an offensive player of his caliber considering he has put up 23 points in 25 games this year. The team should provide an update on his status once they know more information, but with his timeline set as indefinite, the 22-year-old could be a candidate for injured reserve.

Galchenyuk departed Sunday's game with an undisclosed issue and will not return, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The youngster has been a spark plug for the offense this season, scoring on 20 percent of his shot attempts and tallying 23 points through 24 contests. It would be a huge loss for the Habs should the issue turn out to cost him extended time, but the team should update Galchenyuk's status again in the coming days.

Galchenyuk scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
With 21 points in 20 games, he's among the NHL's offensive luminaries through the first quarter of the season -- fifth among all skaters. It's nice to see him put four shots on net Tuesday -- that was his highest output since Nov. 4. Firing on goal more prolifically is going to be crucial for Galchenyuk if he wants to keep up the pace, as he currently has a sky-high shooting percentage (an even 20 percent) that's due for regression.

Galchenyuk picked up two power-play assists in a 5-0 win against the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
His scoring streak now sits at four games and six points, and 16 points in 15 games for the season. His emergence as the team's top center comes at just the right time with Tomas Plekanec ready to pass on the torch. Michel Therrien tends to spread his ice time out quite a bit, but Galchenyuk should continue to be one of the team's leaders. He's the undisputed No. 1 center in Montreal, and their offense is clicking right now.
