Malcom Floyd caught two passes for 23 yards in Week 4 against the Chiefs.
Floyd received a three-year contract extension on Wednesday. He was targeted just three times on the afternoon. This is what you get with Floyd. He'll bust out for a stretch of games and then completely disappear in others. Floyd is on pace to catch 60 passes for 1,000 yards and four touchdowns after the quarter mark of the season. The San Diego passing offense is licking their chops at the Week 5 matchup with the Saints.

Chargers signed Malcom Floyd to a three-year contract extension.
Floyd was set to earn $2 million in 2012, and it's unknown if that figure has changed. He was scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency after the season. Floyd has easily been San Diego's top receiver through the first three weeks, catching 13 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown. The Bolts signed Robert Meachem to a four-year deal and slot man Eddie Royal to a three-year contract this past offseason.

Malcom Floyd caught three passes for 52 yards in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Falcons.
It was an ugly day for the entire Chargers' passing offense. Floyd had two bad drops, including one on a bomb that hit him on the hands. Later, he was running wide open on the left sideline but Philip Rivers tried to force a throw to Antonio Gates. The ball was picked off. Floyd, still healthy, remains a solid weekly WR3 bet heading into next week's game against the Chiefs.

Malcom Floyd says his body feels better right now than it ever has.
Various injuries have previously crippled Floyd, causing him to miss nine games over the last two seasons. Now healthy, he's emerged as Philip Rivers' No. 1 wideout and has racked up 14 times in the first two games. Those targets figure to take a little hit once Antonio Gates (ribs) gets back, but Floyd is a unique athlete at 6-foot-5. Robert Meachem and Rivers aren't on the same page.

Michael Floyd caught six passes for 109 yards in the Chargers win over the Titans Sunday.
Floyd made the most of soft zones between the hashes and used his length to haul in high throws from Philip Rivers. He really was the weapon that kept the offense moving early and saw his targets increase with the loss of Antonio Gates.

Malcom Floyd caught four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers Week 1 win over the Raiders.
Philip Rivers found Floyd in the back of the endzone from six yards out for the Bolts lone touchdown of the night. He also caught a pretty 23-yard pass down the right sideline while working on Raiders cornerback Ronald Bartell. Floyd is obviously Rivers' No. 2 option in the passing game right now while Meachem and Rivers still work to find their chemistry. He's not much more than a WR3/4, though.

Malcom Floyd caught seven balls for 127 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' Week 17 win over Oakland.
Floyd missed Weeks 9-12 with various nagging ailments, but he was highly productive when healthy in 2011. He was also one of the NFL's fastest-finishing receivers, clearing 95 yards in four of his last five games to finish with 43 grabs, 856 yards, five touchdowns, and a 19.9 yards-per-reception average. Going on 31, Floyd still has a good amount of explosion left in the tank. He will return to San Diego as a WR3/4 candidate in 2012 fantasy leagues.

Malcom Floyd caught six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown in San Diego's Week 16 loss to the Lions.
With Vincent Jackson greatly diminished by a groin injury, Floyd drew a team-high 13 tagets. Many of his looks were uncatchable sideline passes, however, as V-Jax's injury forced Philip Rivers to lock onto his No. 2 receiver despite tight coverage. With there being a good chance Jackson is held out in a Week 17 game that is now meaningless for the Chargers, Floyd could be a solid WR2 against the Raiders' leaky pass defense.

Malcom Floyd caught five passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in San Diego's Week 15 win over Baltimore.
Floyd and Philip Rivers were in rhythm all night, capping things off on San Diego's first possession of the second half, where Floyd burned rookie Ravens CB Jimmy Smith on a 28-yard touchdown grab in the end zone. Tonight was Floyd's second big game in three weeks since returning from a hip injury, but you'd be wise not to rely on San Diego's streaky No. 2 wideout as anything more than a WR3 in the fantasy finals.

Malcom Floyd caught just two passes for 29 yards in the Chargers' Week 14 win over the Bills.
Floyd saw just two targets all day as Philip Rivers peppered Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson. It's a reminder that Floyd is the No. 3 option in the passing game and No. 4 option on offense when we include Ryan Mathews. He'll be a boom-or-bust kind of deep threat heading into next week's game against the Ravens.
