Titans coach Mike Munchak reiterated Friday that he's "hopeful" Jake Locker (shoulder) will practice next week and start in Week 7. Munchak essentially confirmed that there's no quarterback controversy in Nashville, despite Matt Hasselbeck's Thursday night upset win over the Steelers. Locker is the starter when healthy. The 2-4 Titans could get back to .500 with wins over the Bills in Week 7 and Colts in Week 8. Buffalo's defense has been terrible, so Locker could reemerge quickly as a productive fantasy QB2.

The Titans have ruled out Jake Locker (shoulder) for Thursday night's game against the Steelers. Struggling Matt Hasselbeck will get another start in a brutal matchup, and he'll be backed up by Rusty Smith. Coach Mike Munchak indicated the Titans were hopeful Locker can return in Week 7 against the Bills. Through three appearances, a fading Hasselbeck has completed 62 percent of 79 throws for just 436 yards (5.5 YPA), three touchdowns, and three interceptions, also losing a fumble. We don't expect the Titans to be competitive on Thursday Night Football.

Jake Locker (shoulder) is inactive for Week 5 against the Vikings. Locker has a separated left shoulder, so Matt Hasselbeck will draw the start. Locker's status for Week 6 is still cloudy, so check back this week for updates. The Titans also declared RB Jamie Harper, OLs Mike Otto and Deuce Lutui, WR Lavelle Hawkins, LB Patrick Bailey, and DE Scott Solomon inactive.

Jake Locker (shoulder) has been officially ruled out for Sunday, and coach Mike Munchak is "uncertain" of his status beyond Week 5. Matt Hasselbeck will be under center against the Vikings. Although Munchak is admittedly uncertain about Locker's outlook, he doesn't expect his second-year quarterback to require surgery. Regardless, Locker's situation continues to have the hallmarks of a multi-week absence, and owners in two-QB leagues need to be making arrangements beyond Week 5 if they haven't already.

A former team physician for the Giants and a renowned shoulder specialist believes Jake Locker will eventually need surgery. Dr. Mike Pagnani hasn't examined Locker, but he paints an ugly picture. Locker's left shoulder has popped out twice in four weeks. "Eventually the pain will go away," Pagnani said. "The risk is it's going to happen again, and it's probably just a matter of time before it does." A third dislocation would almost certainly result in surgery and a 4-6 month timetable. Matt Hasselbeck is expected to start in place of Locker against the Vikings Sunday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jake Locker (separated left shoulder) is not expected to play in Week 5 against the Vikings. One would have expected this news after seeing how much pain Locker was in after getting leveled by Texans safety Glover Quin on Sunday. Matt Hasselbeck will get the start. Head coach Mike Munchak acknowledged that the injury was similar to the one Locker suffered in Week 1. If indeed Locker doesn't suit up for Minnesota, he'll look to return in Week 6 against the Steelers. Consider him week-to-week at this point.

Coach Mike Munchak confirmed Monday that Jake Locker's left (non-throwing) shoulder popped out of place on Sunday's first-quarter sack by Texans S Glover Quin, and the Titans consider Locker "day to day." Munchak said the injury is similar to the dislocation Locker suffered in Week 1. He didn't return to that game, but was ready the next week. Perhaps the Titans will proceed with more caution this week, but the injury no longer has the look of a multi-game situation. The Titans visit Minnesota in Week 5, followed by a home test with Pittsburgh. We'll know more about Locker on Wednesday.

The Titans fear that Jake Locker's latest left (non-throwing) shoulder separation is worse than his initial dislocation, suffered in Week 1. Locker's left shoulder popped out of place again on an early-game sack by Texans S Glover Quin on Sunday. He'll have an MRI on Monday, and Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean expects Locker to "miss time." Said coach Mike Munchak after the game, "It is sore, we just don't know to what level. We need to decide what happened. And then we'll make a decision on what's best for the player. We'll evaluate that when we get more information tomorrow." Locker seems to be staring at a multi-game absence.
