Doyle (ankle/knee) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle returned to practice as a full participant Friday, which bodes well for his chances of suiting up versus New York, but a final word on his availability may not come until Indianapolis' inactive list is revealed around 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. Doyle stands to start at tight end if he manages to retake the field, but Mo Alie-Cox did break out as a legitimate weapon last week with over 100 yards, a performance which could earn him more work in the passing game.

Doyle (knee) returned to a limited practice Thursday, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle missed all three of Indy's practices last week with knee and ankle issues before being ruled out for Week 2's win over the Vikings. Now listed with just a knee injury, his return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity, offers hope that Doyle can suit up Sunday against the Jets. If, however, he's limited or out this weekend, Mo Alie-Cox -- who caught five passes for 111 yards against Minnesota -- would once again see added snaps Week 3.

Doyle (ankle/knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Mike Wells of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle's injury kept him out of last week's win over the Vikings, but coach Frank Reich is pleased with the progress the tight end has made thus far and hasn't ruled him out from gaining clearance for Sunday's game against the Jets. While it's still possible Doyle makes it back for Week 3, he'll likely need to practice on at least a limited basis Thursday or Friday to have a realistic shot at playing against New York. While filling in for Doyle in the win over Minnesota, Mo Alie-Cox had a breakout game with over 100 receiving yards, a performance that could lead the Colts to play it safe with their top tight end until he's fully healthy.

Doyle (ankle/knee) won't play Sunday against the Vikings, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Walker adds that coach Frank Reich indicated that at first it looked like Doyle might be dealing with a multi-game injury, but the tight end has progressed better than expected and could be back as soon as Week 3. In Doyle's absence this weekend, Mo Alie-Cox and Noah Togiai will handle the Colts' tight end duties.

Doyle (ankle/knee) wasn't present for the start of Friday's practice, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
EDGE Analysis
That doesn't bode well for Doyle's status for Sunday's game against the Vikings, with the Colts' final injury report of the week set to arrive later Friday. At that point, we'll know if the tight end has any chance of playing Week 2.

Doyle (ankle/knee) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle will go down as a non-participant on the Colts' practice report for the second day in a row, suggesting his absence from Wednesday's session wasn't merely maintenance-related. The tight end will probably need to turn in at least a limited practice Friday to have realistic hope of playing in Sunday's game against the Vikings. Mo Alie-Cox and Noah Togiai are the lone other healthy tight ends on the team's 53-man roster.

Doyle didn't practice Wednesday due to ankle and knee injuries.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle, who dealt with a neck issue during training camp, evidently came out of the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Jaguars feeling banged up. The Colts may have been holding their top tight end out Wednesday for maintenance purposes, but for now, his status for Sunday's game against the Vikings remains muddled. Mo Alie-Cox and Noah Togiai are the next men up at tight end behind Doyle.

Doyle had three receptions for 49 yards on four targets in Sunday's 27-20 loss at Jacksonville.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle's fantasy stats could have been much better, but quarterback Philip Rivers just barely overthrew Doyle on a touchdown target. Still, Doyle wasn't a main option for Rivers, who has focused on tight ends in the past, as he was fifth on the team in targets. Doyle did play on 54 of the offense's 74 snaps and stayed in to block on just two passing plays, which bodes well for increased usage in the passing game going forward.

Doyle (neck) isn't listed on the Colts' Week 1 injury report released Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
With Eric Ebron now in Pittsburgh and Trey Burton (calf) set to miss at least a few games, Doyle should be busy Sunday against the Jaguars while serving as the Colts' primary pass-catching tight end. As long as Burton is out, Doyle will be backed up by Mo Alie-Cox and Noah Togiai.

Doyle (neck) could be in line for increased early-season targets with Trey Burton (calf) expected to miss at least a few games, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle handled 74.1 percent of Indianapolis' offensive snaps last season while sharing snaps with Eric Ebron, and he now looks set to kick off the 2020 campaign as the team's unquestioned No. 1 tight end. Mo Alie-Cox could also see increased reps while Burton remains sidelined, but he's yet to log 10 catches in a single season and shouldn't be a notable threat to Doyle's targets. Sept. 13's season-opener against Jacksonville is a more than favorable matchup, putting Doyle in good position for fantasy relevance if he can shake his current neck injury.
