In what was a defensive slugfest, Doyle ended up being a difference maker, leading the Colts with 61 receiving yards, his highest total of the season. Doyle has been a solid underneath contributor for Indy with at least three catches in five consecutive games, but his 10.0 yards per catch and one touchdown on the season probably make him less valuable for fantasy purposes than he is for his team. Next up is a middle-of-the-road Steelers pass defense.

Doyle was added to the injury report and took a questionable tag into the matchup with Denver after the groin issue limited his participation in Friday's practice. With the Colts giving him the green light to play two days later, Doyle should be in store for a relatively normal snap count. Through six games, Doyle has hauled in 17 of 25 targets for 149 yards and a touchdown.

Doyle's late-week addition to the Colts' injury report suggests that his status will need to be monitored closely in advance of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If he's limited or out this weekend, Eric Ebron would be in line for added snaps/targets, with Mo Alie-Cox also in the team's tight end mix.

The Colts' pass targets took a back seat to the running game Sunday as Indy sought to control the pace of play and keep the Chiefs' offense off the field. Doyle's numbers were minimally affected, which tells you a lot about how the season has gone for the seventh-year tight end. He has reached 25 yards receiving just once this season, but the path of least resistance in Week 7 may be through the air as the Texans feature a solid run defense, but leaky pass defense.

Doyle had four receptions for 22 yards on eight targets in Sunday's loss to Oakland.

EDGE Analysis

Doyle had a season high in targets and snaps (56), but didn't have an overly productive day. It looks like he could get more looks if T.Y. Hilton (quadriceps) remains out, but he'll need better quality targets to warrant a spot in most fantasy lineups.

Doyle secured all four of his targets for 46 yards in the Colts' 27-24 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran tight end made good use of his modest target total and iced the game for the Colts with an 11-yard reception on third down in Falcons' territory and Atlanta out of timeouts. Doyle has seen his targets climb in each game thus far, but as Sunday's tally shows, that actually hasn't amounted to very hefty volume. Doyle will look to up his involvement yet again in a Week 4 matchup against the Raiders.

Unless the Indy passing offense becomes more prolific under Jacoby Brissett, Doyle isn't going to get enough targets to be an impact tight end in most formats.

Doyle had one reception for 20 yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.

EDGE Analysis

Doyle played 43 snaps on offense compared to Eric Ebron's 25 snaps, but Ebron had three targets (one reception for eight yards) including not being able to pull in a catch in the end zone. It looks like neither tight end will be targeted enough in the passing game for viable fantasy value in most leagues, but it looks like Doyle will repeat last year's pattern of getting more snaps than Ebron if fewer quality targets.

EDGE Analysis

Doyle didn't play in Thursday's preseason contest against the Bills with what was described as a minor oblique issue. That injury appears to have dissipated, opening the door for the veteran tight end to return to the practice field.
