Doyle (back) didn't practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle logged 35 of a possible 61 snaps on offense in this past Sunday's loss to the Titans, en route to catching one of his two targets for 10 yards. If he's out or limited this weekend against the Dolphins, added snaps would be available for Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson.

Doyle brought in five of eight targets for 64 yards in the Colts' 27-24 loss to the Rams on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
With Parris Campbell (abdomen) out of action, Doyle stepped up to draw even with Zach Pascal for second on the team in receptions. The veteran tight end also checked in second in targets, displaying some strong chemistry with Carson Wentz (ankle) before the latter was forced from the contest. Doyle's production was a notable improvement from his 3-21-0 receiving line Week 1, and he could be called upon quite frequently as a security blanket in a Week 3 road battle against the Titans if second-year quarterback Jacob Eason is forced to fill in for Wentz.

Doyle had three receptions for 21 yards on four targets in Sunday's loss to Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle started at tight end and played 45 snaps compared to 39 snaps for Mo Alie-Cox. Doyle went out for a pass on 24 snaps, and Alie-Cox went out for a pass on 20 snaps. It looks like both will split the targets and playing time at tight end. Kyle Granson was a non-factor with just seven snaps on offense and no targets. Alie-Cox could take over the bulk of targets at tight end and emerge as a red-zone option, but the Indy offense looks set to spread the ball among a deep receiving corps even with the change at quarterback to Carson Wentz.

Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox may be needed more as blockers in the run game if the Colts struggle to replace Anthony Castonzo at left tackle, Zak Keefer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Colts signed former Chief Eric Fisher to take over at left tackle, but he may not be ready to return until midseason from a an Achilles tear suffered back in January. Doyle returns to lead the tight end corps, but had just 23 receptions and 35 targets last season. At 31 years old and facing competition from Mo Alie-Cox and 2021 fourth-round draft pick Kylen Granson, any extra blocking requirements would only continue a diminishing fantasy outlook.

Doyle caught all three of his targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 28-14 win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle finished the regular season with 23 catches (33 targets) for 251 yards and three touchdowns across 14 appearances. The receptions, yardage and touchdowns were his fewest since 2015, excluding the 2018 campaign, when he suited up just six times due to injuries. The Colts have a potential out from the 30-year-old's contract this offseason, as cutting him would only result in a $1.5 million dead-cap hit. Doyle would carry a $5.85 million cap hit if he does return for Indianapolis in 2021, but the team will want to see what he's able to do during its postseason run before making a decision.

Doyle (quadriceps) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle didn't practice Thursday, but he's been cleared for Week 17 action after a full session Friday. He'll likely continue to split tight-end reps with Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox.

Doyle (quad) missed practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle was added to the Colts' Week 17 injury report Thursday, so his status will need to be monitored in advance of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. If he's out or limited this weekend, added tight end snaps and targets would be available for Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox.

Doyle caught four of six targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle led the Colts' tight end group with 38 of 69 snaps on offense. He registered season highs in receiving yards and receptions. However, those achievements clearly point to the down year that Doyle has endured, as he's posted a 20-234-3 line through 13 games.

Doyle (quad) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Steelers after being listed as a full practice participant Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle will be out there Sunday, but he hasn't offered much fantasy value this season while competing for tight end targets with Mo Alie-Cox and Trey Burton. Overall, he's logged a 16/184/3 stat line through 12 contests, and in his last outing Doyle caught both targets for 14 yards in the Colts' Week 15 win over the Texans.

Doyle was added to the Colts' Week 16 report Thursday after a quadriceps injury prevented him from practicing.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle has previously appeared on reports this season with a concussion along with neck, ankle and knee injuries, but the quad issue is a new concern for the tight end. Given that he wasn't listed on Wednesday's report at all, Doyle likely picked up the injury in practice rather than during last week's win over the Texans. Doyle will now likely need to get back on the practice field in some capacity Friday to have a good chance at playing Sunday against the Steelers.
