Doyle (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, Mo Alie-Cox (knee) is listed as questionable for the contest, leaving Trey Burton as the team's top healthy tight end heading into Week 10. Doyle will now look to gain medical clearance in advance the Colts' Nov. 22 game against the Packers.

Doyle (concussIon) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle has yet to make much notable progress through the NFL's concussion protocol after sustaining a head injury in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. With the Colts set to play in Tennessee on Thursday night this week, Doyle likely won't have enough time to clear the protocol. Assuming Doyle ends up sitting out the Week 10 contest, the Colts would roll with Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox as their primary options at tight end.

Coach Frank Reich said Monday that Doyle (concussion) is "very unlikely" to suit up against the Titans on Thursday, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle suffered a concussion during Sunday's 24-17 win over the Bears, so he'd need to make extremely quick progress through the league's five-step protocol for any chance of suiting up Thursday. If he can't go Week 10, Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox figure to see increased opportunities as Indianapolis' clear top remaining options at tight end.

Doyle won't return to Sunday's game against the Ravens after being diagnosed with a concussion, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle was targeted with less than a minute left in the first half, but he couldn't reel it in while taking a hard hit from Ravens' safety Chuck Clark. The 30-year-old tight end has officially been ruled out. Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox figure to see increased usage for the rest of the day. Doyle will need to make a quick recovery through the league's five-step concussion protocol in order to be available for Thursday's matchup against the Titans.

Doyle caught two of three targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-21 win over the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle has caught touchdowns in back-to-back games, and he was on the field for 58 percent of offensive snaps. He has played at least 54 percent of offensive snaps in all five of his appearances this season, seeing the field consistently despite competition for playing time from both Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox at the tight end position.

Doyle had three receptions for 29 yards on three targets, including a 14-yard touchdown, in Sunday's win over the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle had disappeared from the passing game with just four receptions in his first four games, so his touchdown was a mild surprise. While Doyle finally showed some signs of being a part of the offense, he also got targets because Mo Alie-Cox was out with a knee injury and the Colts were forced to pass after falling behind big early. Trey Burton has also likely surpassed Doyle as the primary focus at tight end in the passing game, so Doyle could return to a minimal role if Alie-Cox returns after Indy's Week 7 bye.

Doyle did not have a reception on two targets in Sunday's loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle started at tight end and went out for passes on 18 of the offenses 37 pass plays, but again wasn't a factor in the offense. He has just one reception and four targets in his last three games. Trey Burton had six targets and looks to have moved ahead of Doyle in prominence in the passing game. Mo Alie-Cox also remains a factor at TE as well (one target, but was hurt during the game). Even if Alie-Cox is sidelined, Doyle has gone from a prominent role in the passing offense last season to an afterthought.

Doyle had one reception for 12 yards on his only target in Sunday's win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
With injuries at wide receiver (Parris Campbell and Michael Pittman on IR), the Colts utilized three tight ends in the passing game against the Bears. Mo Alie-Cox was a starter in a two-TE set with Doyle. Alie-Cox played 33 of the offense's 72 snaps with Doyle playing 45 snaps and Trey Burton playing 36 snaps. It was thought Doyle would have a large profile in the Indy offense, but he has just four receptions and five targets in three games.

Doyle wasn't targeted over 32 offensive snaps in Sunday's 36-7 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Mo Alie-Cox was phenomenal when Doyle sat out of Week 2's game versus the Vikings, recording five receptions for 111 yards. In Doyle's return to the lineup Week 3, Alie-Cox out-snapped Doyle, 36-32, and was more effective as a pass catcher with a 3-50-1 line. It's fair to assume that Doyle's target-less effort can be partly attributed to the fact that it was his first game back from ankle and knee injuries, but Alie-Cox has established himself with Philip Rivers as a dependable TE with a 91.0 percent catch rate and 18.1 yard per catch. Doyle will look to get back on track in Week 4 against the Browns.

Doyle (ankle/knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle is back after a one-game absence and should return to a key role in the Colts' passing game Sunday, while Mo Alie-Cox is also on hand to work in a complementary role or handle extra work if Doyle is limited at all in his return, or suffers an in-game setback.
