Allen (knee) will not play in Saturday's game against the Knicks or Sunday's game against the Wizards, Ronald Tillery of the Commerical Appeal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen missed the entire preseason due to his sore knee and had an outside chance of returning to action on Saturday. He indicated that he hoped to return on Wednesday against the Pelicans. Look for Andrew Harrison and Vince Carter to see some extra time as long as Allen remains out.

Allen (knee) is considered questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Knicks, Ronald Tillery of The Commercial Appeal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen missed the entire preseason with a sore knee, and is still looking to make his season debut. It was originally reported he would miss the first week of the season, so a return Saturday would be slightly ahead of schedule. Head coach David Fizdale stated that Allen "had a good practice" Friday, so he figures to be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest. Andrew Harrison will presumably continue filling in for Allen at shooting guard if he remains sidelined.

Allen (knee) is expected to miss the first week of the regular season, Tim MacMahon of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen was considered questionable heading into Wednesday's season opener against the Timberwolves before eventually being ruled out. The swelling in his knee is reportedly gone, but the veteran is still working on regaining his explosiveness. Andrew Harris is filling in at shooting guard Wednesday, so he is a likely candidate to continue doing so while Allen is sidelined.

Allen (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's season opener against the Timberwolves, Phillip Dean of Sports 56 WHBQ in Memphis reports.
EDGE Analysis
Initially deemed questionable, Allen has now been downgraded to out after the team put him through an evaluation at morning shootaround. The veteran missed all six of Memphis' preseason games with a sore right knee, and it's unclear if he'll be ready for the Grizzlies' next game Saturday in New York. In Allen's absence Wednesday, expect to see more of James Ennis, as well as Vince Carter (knee) and Wade Baldwin (knee), assuming both players are given the green light to play.

Allen (knee) remains questionable for Wednesday's season opener against Minnesota, Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen said Monday that he expects to be available Wednesday, but the Grizzlies aren't quite ready to make a decision. The team will likely wait until shootaround to give the veteran one final evaluation, at which point his status will be updated. If Allen is ultimately held out or limited, Vince Carter and Wade Baldwin would be in line for increased minutes.

Allen (knee) expects to play in Wednesday's regular season opener against the Timberwolves, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach David Fizdale mentioned on Sunday that he thought Allen was "getting close" to a return, so this most recent report only further confirms Fizdale's growing optimism. Allen was able to practice in full over the weekend and as long as he doesn't have any lingering soreness over the next two days, he should be ready to go on Wednesday. He's expected to jump into the starting lineup at shooting guard right off the bat, although it remains to be seen if Allen could see limited minutes in his first game back.

Allen (knee) is nearing a return to full strength, Pete Wickham of The Commercial Appeal reports. Coach David Fizdale said, "He looked good, and I think he's getting close. I don't want to say there's guarantees (about when will be back), but he went through the whole practice today and all of yesterday. We don't go for continuous long stretches of time, but he's looking better, and I'm hoping we get him back soon."
EDGE Analysis
Allen logged his first full practice Saturday after missing the final three games of the Grizzlies' preseason schedule. It remains to be seen if he'll be cleared for Wednesday's preseason opener against the Timberwolves, but as it currently stands, Allen is trending in the right direction. As long as there isn't significant swelling and pain in his knee, Allen should continue to be a full participant in practice throughout the week and will likely have a final decision on his status for the opener following the team's morning shootaround Wednesday. Allen is slated to begin the 2016-17 campaign as the Grizzlies' starting shooting guard.

Allen (knee) went through a full practice Saturday, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen missed the Grizzlies' final three exhibition contests while dealing with swelling and soreness in his knee. He returned to full practice work over the weekend, though his status for the regular season opener Wednesday remains clouded. Per coach David Fizdale, Allen will be evaluated next week, and the level of swelling will ultimately determine his status.

Allen (knee) has been ruled out of Wednesday's preseason finale versus the Timberwolves, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen has yet to play during the preseason, but all indications are that he'll be available by the time the regular season starts. The Grizzlies' opener is slated for Oct. 26 against the Timberwolves, so Allen will have a little over a week to get back to full strength. Vince Carter started for him in the Grizzlies' last preseason outing, so look for that to be the case again on Wednesday.

Allen (knee) didn't play in Thursday's 110-94 preseason win over the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
Allen has been held out of all four of the Grizzlies' exhibition games, but is believed to be on track for a return before the start of the regular season. With Allen sitting out Thursday, Vince Carter slid into the starting five at shooting guard, producing five points over 18 minutes.
