Allen (knee) is out for Tuesday's preseason tilt with the 76ers, Brian Seltzer of Sixers.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran guard is dealing with some general knee soreness that will delay his preseason debut for at least another game. Head coach David Fizdale has already confirmed that Allen will be ready for the regular season opener in about two weeks, but for now expect the lockdown defender to continue to receive extended rest. Troy Daniels figures to see increased action in Allen's absence on Tuesday.

Grizzlies coach David Fizdale confirmed Thursday that Allen (knee) would open the regular season as the team's starting shooting guard, ESPN.com's Tim MacMahon reports. "I need Tony in that starting lineup," Fizdale said. "He's still an elite defender."
EDGE Analysis
Allen has been held out of the Grizzlies' first two preseason games while recovering from a minor knee injury, but he's fully expected to be on the court for the start of the regular season. The 34-year-old flitted in and out of the Grizzlies' starting five for each of the past three years under former coach Dave Joerger, but Allen may enjoy a longer leash from Fizdale, especially with none of the team's reserve wings representing enough of an upgrade on the offensive end to outweigh the veteran's defensive prowess. While Allen doesn't bring much to the table from a fantasy perspective with averages of 8.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists a season ago, his ability to lock down any perimeter opponent has been a major part of the team's success over the years and will continue to guarantee him plenty of minutes.

Allen (knee) will sit out Thursday's preseason matchup with the Hawks, John Martin of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is dealing with a minor knee issue, although it's not considered serious and shouldn't keep him on the sidelines long. Troy Daniels drew the start when Allen was sidelined on Monday and could get the call again, although rookie Wade Baldwin could see extended minutes again as well after notching an impressive 15-point, six-assist performance over 28 minutes on Monday. Allen's next opportunity to return will be Tuesday versus the Sixers.

Allen (knee) will not play in Monday's preseason game against Orlando.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is dealing with a minor knee issue and will be held out Monday night to rest, mostly as a precaution. Coach David Fizdale indicated Allen is considered day-to-day, so it's possible he could miss time beyond Monday, though his status for the regular season isn't in any doubt.

Allen will move into the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Spurs, Rob Fischer of Sports56WHBQ in Memphis reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Grizzlies are employing a small lineup to start Friday's game in an effort to change things up after two lopsided losses in the first two games of the series. Allen will get the start at shooting guard while Vince Carter slides to the three and Matt Barnes takes over at power forward. Chris Anderson was taken out of the lineup in order to make room for Allen. In the first two games of the series, Allen averaged 9.5 points and 3.0 rebounds over 21 minutes.

Allen had 12 points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-7 FT), three rebounds, two steals, and one assist in 21 minutes during the Grizzlies' 94-68 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is grinding through a hamstring injury, but it's a sad state of affairs when 12 points is good enough to be the team high. Memphis might be wise to shut Allen down for the remainder of the series, but the Grizzlies seem intent on playing for pride. Whenever he takes the floor, he's guaranteed to give it his all, but this might be as good as it gets in this series for Allen.

Allen (hamstring) scored seven points (3-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt) to go with three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 21 minutes during the Grizzlies' 106-74 loss to the Spurs on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is playing through a lot of pain for the injury-ravaged Grizzlies, but he'll have a hard time producing quality stats against the elite defense of San Antonio. It's possible Allen will see some more playing time going forward in the series, but considering that he is ailing, expectations about his minutes should probably be tempered.

Allen (hamstring) said despite still dealing with pain, he will be ready for Game 1 Sunday against the Spurs, Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen said that his pain "runs deeper than the ocean," but it doesn't look like that will stop the lockdown defender from giving it a go in the playoffs. Barring a setback in the next two days, expect Allen to be ready.

Allen (hamstring) will not play in Wednesday's tilt with the Warriors, Ronald Tillery of The Commercial Appeal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen was questionable heading into this contest due to a sore hamstring, and will officially sit out. He missed the Grizzlies' previous two games, and likely wants to enter the playoffs healthy. Consider him day-to-day going forward.

Allen (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Grizzlies, Diamond Leung of Bay Area News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen has missed each of the last two games with soreness in his left hamstring, and he's trending toward a game-time decision Wednesday night. Memphis is already locked into the postseason, though the Grizzlies are the final obstacle in the way of Golden State setting the single-season wins record, so that could serve as some motivation for Allen to play through discomfort. Look for an update prior to the 10:30PM ET tip.
