Tony Allen suffered a mild left ankle sprain in the first half of Wednesday's game, but he will return.
While he was able to make it to the locker room under his own power, T.A. did have a little bit of a limp. If this injury does lead to Allen missing time, Jerryd Bayless would likely see the largest increase in value.

Tony Allen (rest) will not play on Wednesday against the Rockets.
It's just rest for one of the league's best in the steals department. He had 1.8 steals per game last year and should flirt with that number for the 2012-13 season. Josh Selby will reportedly get a longer look tonight.

Tony Allen (knee scope) has been running with the starters at Grizzlies camp, as expected.
Allen got his knee cleaned out after feeling soreness down the stretch last season. It's not a concern. The defensive stopper is locked into a starting wing spot opposite Rudy Gay. He managed 9.8 points, 1.8 steals and 0.6 blocks in that role a year ago. We wouldn't expect a boost in minutes this year with Jerryd Bayless and Josh Selby in the mix.

Tony Allen wants to remain with the Grizzlies long-term.
"I don't want to go anywhere," he said. The Grizzlies can't sign Allen to an extension during the season per CBA rules, so both sides will wait it out. He could very well price himself out of Memphis' comfort zone unless the team trades one of its more highly-priced players.

Tony Allen had arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage in his left knee this summer, but he's already resumed practicing and "guaranteed" that he'll be ready for the regular season.
"I don't want to rush it. But I'll be back for the first game, Oct. 31, against the Clippers," said Allen. The veteran SG becomes an unrestricted FA next summer, so he should be plenty motivated, and fantasy owners would do well not to overlook him -- he quietly returned eighth-round value (nine-cat) in both 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Coach Lionel Hollins said that Tony Allen's reduced minutes in the playoffs are not due to injury.
Allen's missed a practice last week due to a sore left knee, but that's not why he's playing just 22.5 minutes per game in the first-round series against the Clippers. Hollins cited simple game flow. "When we win nobody says anything. When we lose you're always second guessed. But I have to make the decisions and I live with them," Hollins said.

Tony Allen (knee) is "fine" and will play in Game 2 as expected.
Allen's knee concern looked to be overblown, and the staunch perimeter defender will be in the lineup for Memphis for Game 2 against the Clippers.

Tony Allen is expected to play in Game 2 on Wednesday, despite missing Tuesday's practice with a sore left knee.
A source told Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld that Allen is "good to go." Memphis can certainly use their gritty veteran and his tough perimeter defense, as they look to bounce back from their historic collapse at home in Game 1.

Tony Allen missed practice on Tuesday due to a knee injury and there is "no word" on his availability for Game 2 against the Clippers.
Allen is being checked out by a doctor, and if he's forced to miss time, it's going to be a major blow for the Grizzlies. Allen is an excellent perimeter defender, but his absence would also shorten Memphis' rotation considerably on the wing. We'll have an update when one becomes available.

Tony Allen nabbed a franchise-record eight steals in the Grizzlies' 109-101 win over the Cavs on Monday, and also chipped in with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting, eight rebounds, one assist, and one block in 31 minutes.
Welcome back, Mr. Allen. The Grizzlies need losses on Tuesday and Wednesday from the Clippers to set up a meaningful game for the Grizzlies against the Magic on Thursday, but Allen's role might be similar, regardless. He had been quiet since his mouth injury, and unless you don't need steals he's worth being on rosters at this time.
