Tony Allen (strained groin) went through Monday's entire practice, and he's expected to play in Tuesday's game. Wayne Ellington has done nothing in his absence, and Allen should slide back into his typical 25-minute role as the Grizzlies' starting SG.

Tony Allen will sit out Saturday's game with a right groin strain. No surprise here, as groin strains are easy to aggravate and the Grizzlies don't play again until Tuesday. Wayne Ellington will absorb most of his playing time as the fill-in starting SG.

Tony Allen will miss Friday's game due to a right groin strain. Wayne Ellington or Quincy Pondexter will start in his place, and both players might be nice pick-and-plugs in a deep league for tonight's game.

Tony Allen scored eight points on 3-of-9 shooting with four rebounds and three steals in Monday's win over the Cavs. Allen has slowly seen rise to 27.4 mpg over the past four games, and during that time he's been worth owning in 12-team formats. Give him a look with the hopes that his early season struggles are a thing of the past.

Tony Allen played 28 minutes on Monday against the Nuggets, scoring eight points on 2-of-9 shooting with five rebounds, one assist, and two steals. This isn't a great game, but the increased minutes are a nice development. Just keep an eye on him to see if he can parley this into a consistent 26-30 minute role.

Tony Allen finished Sunday's game with four points and one block in 14 minutes, a victim of Wayne Ellington's 25-point outburst off the bench. Ellington's big night wasn't the only reason for the muted output, however, as this is the third consecutive game Allen has logged under 20 minutes. He has yet to score double-digit points through six games, and is only worth owning if you're targeting steals.

Tony Allen shadowed James Harden for 20 minutes in the Grizzlies' 93-85 win over the Rockets on Friday, and also chipped in with eight points, two steals, and one block. Allen hit 3-of-9 shots and the minutes are starting to be a concern. Quincy Pondexter had five points and four steals in 29 minutes, and Allen is now averaging 24 mpg on the year. He's posting 14-team value right now, but it does seem more likely than not that he will improve on that -- he's not going to shoot 35 percent from the field all year.

Tony Allen hit just 4-of-13 shots on Monday against the Jazz, but did manage three steals and two blocks to go with his eight points. Allen also added two rebounds and two assists, and normally he won't shoot such a low percentage like this. Perennially undervalued, he's worth owning in all 8- and 9-cat formats.

Tony Allen had a slow night on Friday against the Warriors, scoring six points on 3-of-9 shooting with three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 30 minutes. Barring a face-plant, Allen will be fine as an elite steals guy that shoots a good percentage. If the trend of low output continues, we'll start calling on owners to drop him, but not until then.

Tony Allen will be the starting SG on opening night. Lionel Hollins had thought about starting Wayne Ellington, but the head coach said that "Tony is the starter when we open Wednesday." The comments make it sound like allen could eventually be moved into a bench role, but the defensive-minded swingman will open the year with the starting five.
