Tony Allen, who will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, said recently, "I believe I'm going to be a Grizzly when it's over with."
"I think [the Grizzlies] are going to keep me," Allen added. "But if they don't, I understand ... I love being in Memphis. I love the city. Hopefully I stay here. It feels like home." Allen was the leading vote-getter for the All-Defensive First Team this season, and he's played typically stellar perimeter defense vs. the Clippers, Thunder and Spurs in the playoffs.

Tony Allen was fined $5,000 for overreacting to a Manu Ginobili flagrant foul in the fourth quarter of Game 2.
Ginobili took Allen down hard with 26 seconds left, preventing a layup on a fastbreak. Allen proceeded to stay on the floor, holding his head even though he never hit his head. It was a classic acting job that helped draw the flagrant.

Tony Allen appeared to tweak a hamstring late in Tuesday's Game 2 win, finishing with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals on 4-of-13 shooting.
Allen played very tough defense on Kevin Durant and company tonight and the Grizzlies will need his D the rest of the way. The injury doesn't appear to be serious and for now, we're expecting him to play in Saturday's Game 3.

The Cavs are expected to be interested in signing Tony Allen as an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.
Cleveland needs to sorely improve on the defensive end and adding Allen on the wing would be a good start. It's not clear if Allen would even be interested in playing for the Cavs, but we'd expect him to draw several offers on the open market.

Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins doesn't plan to have Tony Allen defend Kevin Durant in the second round, citing Durant's size advantage and ability to force double-teams in the post.
The idea in Game 1 was to have Tayshaun Prince defend KD straight up, but that resulted in a massive 35/15/6 line for the league's second-leading scorer. With the Thunder short-handed and leaning heavily on their resident MVP, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Grizzlies throw him some curveballs in Game 2.

Tony Allen scored a career playoff-best 16 points in Monday's Game 2 loss to the Clippers, hitting 6-of-9 shots (including a three) with 10 rebounds, two steals and one block in 39 minutes.
Allen really can't leave the floor against a Clipper team full of athletes, though he has to continue to play at a high level as he did tonight if the Grizz want any chance of evening the series up at home. Jerryd Bayless played just nine minutes tonight and low utilization could be a trend for the rest of the playoffs.

Tony Allen was everywhere in 35 minutes on Sunday, racking up 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, three blocks and zero turnovers.
Allen hit 5-of-8 FGs and we'd love to know how many deflections he had -- Lionel Hollins said the Grizzlies had 37 deflections as a team, but it's not a stat that's officially tracked. Most fantasy owners only use him as a steals specialist, and tonight's line is doubtful to be duplicated in Memphis' final five games.

Tony Allen is not currently giving thought to his impending free agency.
Allen will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, but he said "I ain't thinking about free agency. I'm thinking about a championship." Allen has reportedly "made it clear" he'd like to re-sign with the Grizzlies, but it's not clear if the team will pursue re-signing him. He'll draw plenty of interest in the offseason.

Tony Allen finished Wednesday's easy win in Portland with 14 points, two boards, three assists, five steals and zero turnovers.
Mike Conley led the way with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, with three 3s and five dimes, and as usual Memphis won with balanced scoring and excellent defense. The Blazers finished 41.2 percent from the field, including an abysmal 4-of-29 from downtown, and they turned the ball over 16 times.

Tony Allen scored 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting with four rebounds and two steals over 27 minutes in Friday's 103-94 win over the Rockets.
Allen is a borderline play better suited for deeper leagues, but with four games on the slate next week he's well worth a look.
