Whiteside finished with seven points 3-8 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds and one steal across 18 minutes during Tuesday's 107-89 victory over the Magic.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside returned from a 13 game absence, seeing limited court-time in the comfortable victory. He played with a large brace on his knee and appeared to be on a minutes restriction, although the nature of the scoreline could have contributed to his limited playing time. Unless we hear of any setbacks, it can be assumed he will look to increase his workload against the Nets on Friday.

Whiteside (knee) will play and start in Tuesday's game against the Magic, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside has been sidelined for 13 consecutive games with a knee injury, but after testing it during warmups, he's now feeling good enough to take the court. He'll immediately rejoin the starting lineup at center, which sends Bam Adebayo back to the bench. Along with Adebayo, guys like Kelly Olynyk and Jordan Mickey will also likely see less minutes in the frontcourt. The Heat haven't announced any sort of restrictions for their star big man, though there's a good chance coach Erik Spoelsta keeps a close eye on him. For that reason, Whiteside should be activated in season-long leagues, but will carry plenty of risk for DFS contests.

Coach Erik Spoelstra said he expects Whiteside (knee) to play and start Tuesday's game against Orlando, Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Heat are still waiting until Whiteside goes through pregame warmups to make a final call on his status, but at this point all signs point to the big man returning to the starting five for the first time since late-November. Spoelstra has not clarified whether or not Whiteside will face any sort of limitation, but it seems likely his minutes will be monitored after the lengthy layoff.

Whiteside (knee) went through shootaround and will warm up with the intent to play Tuesday against Orlando.
EDGE Analysis
Nothing is set in stone, but coach Erik Spoelstra was pleased with what he saw from Whiteside in shootaround, so it appears the big man has a legitimate chance to play for the first time in nearly a calendar month. A bone bruise has kept Whiteside sidelined since Nov. 28, which has opened up increased minutes for Kelly Olynyk, Bam Adebayo and Jordan Mickey. If Whiteside does, indeed, play Tuesday, he'd likely face a minutes restriction after the lengthy layoff.

Whiteside (knee) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Magic, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
A report from a couple days ago indicated Whiteside was making progress, and this report is even more optimistic about his status, and gives him a chance to play Tuesday for the first time since Nov. 28. The Heat could have an official update on Whiteside's status after the Miami's morning shootaround, but one way or another, those hoping to include him in Tuesday's lineups will want to keep tabs on his status leading up to game time.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said Saturday that Whiteside (knee) is starting to increase his level of activity, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports. "[Whiteside has] been working out twice a day," Spoelstra said. "One workout is always a non-impact, full conditioning workout either on the bike or in the pool. Then the last few handful of days he's been doing court work and he's been making a lot of progress."
EDGE Analysis
Despite Spoelstra's optimism regarding the center's recovery process, the Heat have yet to etch out a clear timetable for Whiteside's return. Whiteside has been sidelined for 18 games -- including the last 13 in a row -- with a bone bruise in his left knee, opening up more run at center for Kelly Olynyk and Bam Adebayo.

Whiteside (knee) will not travel with the Heat on their upcoming two-game road trip.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside had already been ruled out for Saturday's contest, and the team has now preemptively confirmed that he'll miss at least two additional games. That means Whiteside, who continues to nurse a bone bruise in his left knee, will return to action no sooner than next Friday (Dec. 22) in Dallas.

Whiteside (knee) will not play Saturday against the Clippers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Whiteside will continue to be sidelined by a bone bruise in his left knee. Saturday will mark nine straight absences, and it remains unclear when, exactly, Whiteside might return to action. The big man participated in some on-court work earlier in the week, and coach Erik Spoelstra noted that Whiteside has returned to conditioning work, as well. "He's been working out two, sometimes three times a day," Spoelstra said. "A lot of corrective work, a lot of lifting, a lot of conditioning."

Whiteside (knee) took part in some on-court work Thursday, but has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Hornets, Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside will be missing an eighth straight game Friday, though the fact that he's now doing some on-court work is encouraging for a return in the near future. He's expected to be reevaluated when the team returns home following Friday's contest, which is when we should get a more concrete timetable for his recovery. At this point, it wouldn't be surprising if Whiteside also missed Saturday's tilt with the Clippers. Kelly Olynyk should continue to start in his place and see an increased role, with Bam Adebayo seeing an uptick in minutes off the bench.

Whiteside (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside will officially be missing his seventh straight game, as he's yet to be cleared from a bone bruise in his left knee. He was originally given a 1-to-2 week timetable for a return and Thursday represents the two-week mark, so there's a chance he's then cleared ahead of Friday's matchup with the Hornets. That said, Whiteside should be considered questionable for that contest and he'd likely need to take part in at least portions of Thursday's practice in order to be given the go ahead to return. Look for Kelly Olynk and Bam Adebayo to continue to get the bulk of the center workload in his place.
