Johnson supplied 23 points (9-11 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks across 30 minutes in Wednesday's 107-100 win over the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
The Celtics needed one of their frontcourt players to step up Wednesday with Al Horford (concussion) sitting out, and Johnson was certainly up to the task, tying for the team scoring lead while showing uncharacteristic touch from the perimeter. Johnson has floated out to the three-point line more frequently this season than at any point in his career, but his career 32.8 percent mark from that area likely won't make him a consistent asset in that department. Even so, with Horford set to miss Thursday's game against the Cavaliers and possibly more time beyond that depending on how he progresses from the concussion, Johnson should benefit from an enhanced role on the offensive end. He'll gain an uptick in fantasy value in the short term, but his production figures to be less dependable once Horford returns. Johnson had turned in a combined 15 points over the Celtics' prior three games this season.

Johnson started and scored five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT) while adding one rebound, one assist, one steal, and one block in 16 minutes during Thursday's 105-99 loss to the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson has started both of the Celtics first two games, but he played only 20 minutes on opening night and 16 minutes on Thursday. Johnson can be a well-rounded producer if given significant court time, but that doesn't seem likely to happen any time soon.

Johnson accumulated no points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds and three assists across nine minutes in Wednesday's 121-96 preseason loss to the Knicks.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was the only member of the Celtics' expected opening night starting lineup that took the floor Wednesday, but like the others, he still managed to pick up plenty of rest, as he didn't receive a full minutes load. It's likely that Johnson will see his role diminish once Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) returns, but with no clear timetable for that to happen, he should have some staying power in the starting five.

Johnson will be held out of Saturday's matchup against Charlotte.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Brad Stevens appears to be giving Johnson, along with other everyday guys like Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, and Al Horford a rest day with the Celtics off Sunday. Johnson is coming off a 2015-16 campaign where he averaged 7.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks over 22.8 minutes per game.

Johnson started at power forward and played 15 minutes in Tuesday's 92-89 preseason loss to the 76ers, providing zero points (0-1 FG), two rebounds and one steal.
EDGE Analysis
The Celtics could be without Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) when the regular season starts, so it seems likely that Johnson will have the first crack at a starting role in the frontcourt alongside Al Horford. Johnson had a rough outing Tuesday, accruing four fouls in 15 minutes, but he's a capable rebounder and shot blocker whose presence will likely allow Horford to spend more time on the perimeter.

Johnson had his 2016-17 option picked up by the Celtics on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson's $12 million contract will now be guaranteed for the season, locking him in for at least one more year in Boston. The 29-year-old averaged 7.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 23 minutes per game during 79 games with Boston. Johnson could see a decrease in fantasy production this season with the addition of Al Horford, but should still compete with Jonas Jerebko and Kelly Olynyk for minutes at power forward.

Johnson posted nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 FT), nine boards, three blocks, a steal and an assist in Sunday's home win versus Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson came up big in the key Game 4 win, helping Boston tie the series. The C's are leaning on Johnson as their only big in various small-ball lineups. Jared Sullinger's poor defense is proving to be a liability versus Atlanta and Kelly Olynyk faced limited minutes due to his shoulder injury. Expect more big minutes from Johnson during Game 5 in Atlanta.

Johnson finished with 14 points (6-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, and one block in 21 minutes during the Celtics' 89-72 loss to the Hawks on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was one of only three Celtics to shoot 50 percent or better from the field, and his effort on both ends almost singlehandedly kept Boston in the game. However, he is understandably struggling to move the needle against the Hawks' menacing defensive duo of Paul Millsap and Al Horford. Given that Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) could be sidelined for more than this one contest, Johnson might see increased playing time during Friday's Game 3.

Johnson had six points (2-4 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 25 minutes during the Celtics' 104-97 win against the Pelicans on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson committed four fouls and three turnovers, but he still managed to post an on-court +/- of +8 in the Celtics' win. Johnson has seen at least 24 minutes in 10 of the last 11 games, and his ability to play both power forward and center allows him to see decent minutes despite the team's frontcourt depth. With that being said, Johnson is known for doing the dirty work and being a good glue-guy, not for putting up gaudy stats on a regular basis.

Johnson posted 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-4 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and one steal in 34 minutes during the Celtics' 91-79 win versus the Raptors on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
That's back-to-back double-doubles for Johnson, who has also seen exactly 34 minutes in each of the last two games. Johnson now has seven double-doubles in 2015-16, three of which have come in March. Jae Crowder (ankle) being injured has potentially played a part in Johnson seeing increased burn lately, and that could continue for another week. However, he has gotten 30 minutes or more just 10 times this season, and Johnson is somewhat of a risky option outside of deeper leagues.
