Rangers GM Jon Daniels told MLB Network Radio on Sunday that Darvish (elbow) is expected to return from the disabled list in mid-to-late May.
EDGE Analysis
While Daniels acknowledged Darvish wasn't as sharp as the team had hoped in his most recent bullpen session Thursday, it's not expected to dramatically delay the right-hander's recovery timetable from Tommy John surgery. The Rangers decided to cancel Darvish's rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco that was scheduled for Tuesday, but he could still be called on to pitch with a minor-league affiliate at some point later in the week.

Darvish (elbow) will not begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Tuesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Instead, Darvish will face live hitters in a controlled environment once more, but there has been nothing to suggest he suffered a setback of any kind. It seems the Rangers are just being cautious with the right-hander as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. Darvish threw his first live session less than 10 days ago.

Darvish (elbow) threw a bullpen session Thursday and remains on track to begin a rehab assignment early next week, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish threw 47 pitches without issue in Thursday's session. The Rangers will wait until Friday to determine the next step in his recovery, but if all checks out, he is lined up to kick off an official rehab assignment Tuesday.

Darvish (elbow) is on track to begin a rehab assignment early next week, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish tossed his second live batting practice session Sunday and will throw another such session Thursday before the Rangers determine a rehab schedule for their ace, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery. After being sidelined for a full calendar year following the procedure, Darvish figures to see his workload increased slowly during his rehab, so it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't rejoin the Rangers rotation until the second half of May.

Darvish threw 30 pitches in his first live batting practice session Wednesday in Arlington.
EDGE Analysis
He threw 15 pitches in consecutive innings against members of the Double-A Frisco lineup, as Frisco had an off day Wednesday. Everything went well for Darvish, and his next live batting practice session is scheduled for Sunday. Things continue to progress as planned for the Rangers' ace, and a mid-May return remains possible.

Darvish is expected to throw live batting practice Wednesday, Jeff Wilson of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish went through a throwing workout Saturday, throwing two sets of 25 pitches in a simulated setting. He'll progress to facing live hitters for the first time Wednesday and remains on track to return to the Rangers' rotation sometime around mid-May.

Darvish (elbow) will throw to hitters next week in what amounts to live batting practice, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
He threw a 50-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, and continues to progress favorably in his return from Tommy John surgery. A mid-May return still seems like the best bet, and while it is unclear what the next step will be after next week's live BP, a minor league rehab assignment doesn't seem too far off, provided there are no setbacks.

Darvish (elbow) threw a 50-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish is continuing to work his way back from Tommy John surgery just about 13 months ago, and so far everything has gone off without a hitch. He'll continue to throw bullpen sessions and, if all goes well, is expected to rejoin the big league rotation by mid-May.

Darvish (elbow) was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish hasn't endured any setbacks in his recovery from Tommy John surgery throughout spring training, but the Rangers' plan all along is to ease him back into action by mid-May. As a result, he'll still need a little more than a month to continue his rehab, which could soon include facing hitters.

Darvish (elbow) is expected to return in mid-May and won't require a stint on the 60-day disabled list, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish has been gradually working up his pitch count of late as he sets his sights on returning to the mound following last year's Tommy John. The Rangers' confirmation Saturday that Darvish won't require a stint on the 60-day DL is a sign that the club is confident that he'll be able to return early in the first half of the season. Both Darvish and Josh Hamilton are expected to return by some point in mid-May.
