Darvish hopes to start throwing bullpen sessions in March but will still report to spring training with the rest of the Rangers' pitchers and catchers, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish has been throwing six days a week, with some days at longer distances mixed with others at a shorter distances that include his cutter, two-seam, and changeup in the workout. The timetable hasn't changed much for Darvish's planned return in mid-May, but it's good to see he's still on track and is mixing in his secondary offerings.

Major League Baseball has determined that Darvish had no involvement in his brother's gambling operation in Japan, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evidently it took the commissioner's office only a few days to gather enough information to clear Darvish. With that out of the way, Darvish can focus exclusively on his recovery from Tommy John surgery. General manager Jon Daniels said earlier this week that Darvish remains on schedule and could make it back as early as mid-May. Darvish resumed throwing from 60 feet earlier in January.

Major League Baseball will look into the recent gambling arrest of Darvish's brother, Sho Darvish, in Japan, MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports.
EDGE Analysis
The allegations against Sho Darvish including running an illegal gambling ring that took bets on both MLB and Nippon Professional Baseball, but Darvish denies any involvement in his brother's gambling activities. MLB, meanwhile, is saying that its investigation into Darvish is just "due diligence." As far as Darvish's recovery from Tommy John surgery goes, Rangers pitching coach Doug Brocail expressed optimism Wednesday, telling the Fort Worth Star Telegram, "[Darvish] is a little further along than I thought he was going to be."

Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish began a throwing program on Monday as he continues to recover from Tommy John surgery, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Darvish underwent the procedure in March and is questionable for the start of the 2016 season.

Darvish (elbow) has finished the range-of-motion part of his rehab, and will now begin exercises to strengthen his forearm, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Darvish won't even think about throwing for quite some time following mid-March Tommy John surgery, but his recovery seems to be going well so far. This is at least encouraging news for owners in dynasty formats who had to bite the bullet with the Rangers' ace this year.

Darvish (elbow) was officially placed on the 60-day disabled list Sunday. Darvish is expected to miss the entire 2015 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in mid-March, so this move was merely a formality needed to clear another spot on the 40-man roster. The 28-year-old right-hander can safely be dropped in all non-dynasty formats.

Darvish's Tommy John Surgery went as expected, John Blake of texasrangers.com reports. Darvish now faces a long period of rest, followed by a lengthy rehabilitation process. He'll hope to return for the start of the 2016 season but is no lock to do so.

Darvish (elbow) will undergo Tommy John Surgery and miss the entire 2015 season, ESPN Dallas reports. Darvish is slated for surgery with Dr. James Andrews next week, and he'll be sidelined for the entire season with the goal of returning in 2016. An MRI on Friday revealed partially torn ligaments in his throwing elbow one day after Darvish experienced discomfort while warming up for his spring debut. The All-Star finished last season with a 10-7 record and 3.06 ERA in 22 starts.

General manager Jon Daniels indicated Wednesday that Darvish is expected to need Tommy John surgery, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. The Rangers will send Darvish's MRIs to Dr. James Andrews for third opinion, but the first two doctors both recommended Tommy John surgery. If that winds up the case, he will miss the remainder of the 2015 season and likely part of the 2016 season as well due to the injury. The club indicated it would turn to pitchers within the organization to take his spot in the rotation should it be necessary.

A final decision on Darvish (elbow) is not expected Wednesday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Werth Star-Telegram reports. Contrary to prior reports, the Rangers will likely hold off on making an announcement regarding the plan for Darvish. His preliminary MRI revealed a sprained UCL in his right elbow, an injury which typically required Tommy John surgery, and he went to New York on Monday for a second opinion. Perhaps the team will seek a third opinion before ruling out rest and rehabilitation.
