Darvish (shoulder) will make a rehab start at Double-A Frisco on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
After he threw a successful sim-game on Wednesday, the Rangers feel comfortable with sending Darvish out to begin his rehab assignment Monday. He's expected to throw roughly 45 pitches or three innings during his outing at Double-A Frisco. Given that pitch count, he'll likely need at least one more rehab start to push his pitch count up towards a more normal workload.

Darvish (shoulder) threw a 46-pitch simulated game Wednesday and the next step could be a rehab assignment, the Fort Worth Star Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rangers pitching coach Doug Brocail said it will be important to see if Darvish reports any soreness Thursday. If everything checks out, he could head out on a rehab assignment, making his first rehab start either Monday or Tuesday. He will be capped at four innings or 60 pitches in his next outing. The Rangers are hedging as to whether Darvish will need one or two rehab starts. They have said he could return to the rotation even if he was only capable of giving them 75-80 pitches, but there's also talk that he won't be back until after the All-Star break, which would point to two rehab starts.

Darvish (shoulder) is not expected to return to the Rangers before the All-Star break, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Darvish is reportedly progressing well in his rehab and could be getting close to throwing a simulated game, the Rangers will not hurry their ace back to the mound before he's fully healthy. The Rangers have been able to fare well in Darvish's absence, going 8-2 in their last 10 games to take a 10-game league in the division, which affords them the luxury of being patient with Darvish. Texas figures to keep using a rotation of Cole Hamels, Martin Perez, A.J. Griffin, Cesar Ramos, and Nick Martinez while Darvish is on the shelf.

Darvish (shoulder) completed a bullpen session Sunday without issue and could throw a simulated game as early as Wednesday, Ryan Posner of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish is still hoping to return for a start prior to the All-Star break, though he'll need a setback-free rehab process for that to occur.

Darvish (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Sunday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday's bullpen will be Darvish's first since he landed back on the DL earlier this month. It's a step in the right direction, but he's not expected to be ready for a simulated game for another week or so, meaning Darvish may have his work cut out for him to return before the All-Star break.

Darvish (shoulder) could progress to throwing a bullpen session Saturday, but he won't be ready for a simulated game for another week, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish has been making progress towards a return from some shoulder tightness, and it seems that a major step forward could be on the horizon with a bullpen possibly in the offing. Still, expectations should be tempered a bit as Darvish remains at least a week away from facing live batters, whether it's in a simulated game or in a minor league rehab game. A further update on Darvish's progress figures to be made available later in the week if he is indeed able to throw a bullpen.

Darvish (shoulder) has been placed back on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 9, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports
EDGE Analysis
Darvish returned from the DL and made his season debut May 28. He started three games, but had to exit his most recent contest after the fifth inning when he experienced shoulder tightness. He posted a 19:6 K:BB in his short return to action to go along with five earned runs given up in 15.2 innings. He is currently without a time table for a return.

Darvish will miss Monday's scheduled start due to shoulder tightness and will return to Dallas for an MRI, the Dallas Morning News reports. "I have heard it's common for players that have had Tommy John surgery to have issues like this," Darvish said. "Right now I don't want to push it and make it worse. It's a precaution, we hope it's nothing serious and that I can be back soon."
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear who will start Monday as Cesar Ramos could be an option or Darvish could land on the DL and Texas could call a pitcher up from the minors. After leaving Wednesday's game due to shoulder tightness, he threw Thursday and Friday without any issues. However, he experienced issues throwing Saturday. We should know more about his injury after an MRI on Sunday.

Darvish (shoulder) played catch Thursday and reported no issues, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish exited his start Wednesday with tightness in his throwing shoulder, but he said after the game that he expects to make his next scheduled start. The right-hander is slated to throw his normal bullpen session Friday, and if that goes well he could be officially cleared to start Monday.
