Rangers GM Jon Daniels told MLB Network Radio on Sunday that Darvish (elbow) is expected to return from the disabled list in mid-to-late May.

While Daniels acknowledged Darvish wasn't as sharp as the team had hoped in his most recent bullpen session Thursday, it's not expected to dramatically delay the right-hander's recovery timetable from Tommy John surgery. The Rangers decided to cancel Darvish's rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco that was scheduled for Tuesday, but he could still be called on to pitch with a minor-league affiliate at some point later in the week.
