Darvish (elbow) is on track to begin a rehab assignment early next week, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Darvish tossed his second live batting practice session Sunday and will throw another such session Thursday before the Rangers determine a rehab schedule for their ace, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery. After being sidelined for a full calendar year following the procedure, Darvish figures to see his workload increased slowly during his rehab, so it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't rejoin the Rangers rotation until the second half of May.
