Wei-Yin Chen won Friday after holding the Astros to two runs and five hits over seven innings. Chen improved to 4-2 on the season. He has just three quality starts, but he also hasn't allowed more than four runs in any of his seven outings. While he's a fringe guy in mixed leagues as a result of pitching in the AL East, he should remain a solid AL-only option throughout.

Wei-Yin Chen limited the Rays to one run in 6 1/3 innings in a victory Monday night. Chen had some good fortune tonight after giving up 21 hits -- none of them homers -- in his first two starts against the Red Sox and Orioles. Some good defense helped ,as he went the first four innings tonight without giving up a single knock. He's now 2-1 with a 4.76 ERA as he gets ready to take on the Red Sox again, this time in Fenway. That's not a very good matchup for him.

Wei-Yin Chen yielded four runs in five innings in Tuesday's win over the Yankees. Chen wasn't great, but fortunately for him, he got a lot of help from his offense. The southpaw gave up nine hits and no walks while striking out three batters. He has been shaky over his first two starts and will attempt to bounce back next Monday against the Rays.

Wei-Yin Chen was lit up for six runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Rays on Wednesday. With the wind blowing out a bit, Chen gave up a couple of homers, though the first, off the bat of Wil Myers, certainly didn't need any assistance. Chen ended up striking out five and walking none. His spring ERA is up to 6.39, but his stuff seems just fine.

Wei-Yin Chen yielded two runs on five hits and a walk over two frames against the Yankees Tuesday. One of the runs came on a Francisco Cervelli solo blast. Chen struck out one batter on the night. The Orioles are counting on the left-hander again this season to be a solid middle-of-the-rotation starter.

Orioles left-hander Wei-Yin Chen (knee) announced Saturday that he expects to be ready for Opening Day. The 28-year-old southpaw progressed slowly in his recovery from surgery to remove bone spurs in his right knee, but says he's fine and appears to be on track now. He's been fairly consistent in his first two seasons stateside, and represents a nice late-round option as a sixth or seventh starter in mixed league drafts.
