Skaggs (biceps) (1-0) pitched seven shutout innings while allowing three hits and one walk along with five strikeouts to earn the win Tuesday at the Royals
EDGE Analysis
In his first start of 2016 after being recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, Skaggs was provided plenty of offensive support, although he didn't need much help as he silenced the Royals' hitters while throwing only 88 pitches. He'll look to string together another solid outing in his next start Sunday against the Red Sox.

Skaggs was officially recalled by the Angels on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, the Angels recalled Skaggs on Tuesday ahead of his start against the Royals. In his first start since July of 2014, Skaggs will have the tough task of facing the defending World Series champion. Although Skaggs has had a very long layoff, his performance at Triple-A that preceded his promotion was nothing short of excellent. He notched a 1.67 ERA and 0.84 WHIP with 45 strikeouts over 32.1 innings of work At Triple-A Salt Lake this season.

Skaggs (biceps) will be recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday to start against the Royals, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday's start will mark Skaggs' first appearance in the big leagues since July 31, 2014, when the promising left-hander was diagnosed with ligament damage in his elbow that required Tommy John surgery. After spending all of last season rehabbing, Skaggs had been building up his arm strength in the minors, and appears to have settled in nicely with Salt Lake. Over his seven appearances with the Triple-A club, Skaggs compiled a 1.67 ERA over 32.1 innings, while striking out 45 batters and walking just eight. He should provide an immediate boost to an Angels rotation that has struggled to find reliable arms at the back end, and his upside makes him an attractive pickup for those in deeper leagues.

Skaggs (biceps) is likely to return to the big club Monday or Tuesday against the Royals after throwing a rehab outing for Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports
EDGE Analysis
Skaggs has been magnificent in his last two rehab outings, allowing just two hits over 12.2 innings while striking out 26 batters. The 25-year-old hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2014 while recovering from injuries, meaning the team could decide to limit his workload, but Skaggs is worth a look in deeper leagues after his tremendous performances at Salt Lake.

Skaggs struck out 14 batters over 7 innings in Thursday's start for Triple-A Salt Lake. He allowed no walks and just one hit, tying a team strikeout record set by Jered Weaver in the process, according to the team's official site.
EDGE Analysis
Skaggs gave up a two-out single in the first inning and then retired the last nineteen batters he faced. Once a top prospect, he is just 25 years old and is a nice second half sleeper for those who need pitching help.

Skaggs (biceps) will make his next appearance with Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
On Monday, Skaggs pitched 4.1 innings of work, allowing one earned run and five hits for High-A Inland Empire. Skaggs missed all of the 2015 season as he had to undergo Tommy John surgery after suffering a late-season UCL tear in August of 2014. The 24-year-old started 18 games for the Angels that year, posting a 4.30 ERA during 113 innings of work. He will look to make his first start in almost two years when he returns after the All-Star break, barring any setbacks.

Skaggs (biceps) has had his rehab moved from extended spring training to Class-A Inland Empire, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skaggs went 2.2 scoreless innings in his only appearance at extended spring training and apparently felt good enough afterwards to keep progressing in his rehabilitation. Expect him to use the full length of his rehab assignment, as biceps tendinitis and other injuries suffered since he underwent Tommy John surgery in the offseason have kept him from throwing in a minor league game since May 2.

Skaggs threw 2.2 innings of scoreless ball in his first rehab start, striking out three and allowing just two hits.
EDGE Analysis
After missing two months with bicep tendinitis, this was a good way to start out the rehab assignment. Look for the Angels to be careful with pitch counts until Skaggs demonstrates he is fully through the previous issues.

Skaggs (biceps) will pitch three innings at extended spring training on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
This appears to be some long awaited good news for Skaggs, who has been hindered by a variety of injuries since undergoing Tommy John surgery in the offseason. The left-hander was diagnosed with biceps tendinitis on May 2 and has recently dealt with shoulder discomfort. Although still unable to make a full rehab start, Skaggs is heading in the right direction.
