The Red Sox activated Wright (shoulder) from the disabled list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Wright is ready to return to action after missing three weeks with a shoulder injury suffered while baserunning. He will jump right back into the Red Sox's rotation Friday night against the Royals, and will be looking to pick up where he left off: Wright threw a shutout in his last start Aug. 5.

Wright (shoulder) threw what amounted to a two-inning bullpen session Tuesday, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright tossed 33 pitches, sat down for a few minutes, then came back and threw 23 more. The knuckle-baller, who last pitched Aug. 5, is scheduled to come off the disabled list and start Friday at home against Kansas City.

Wright (shoulder) will start Friday pending the outcome of a bullpen session Tuesday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright threw an uneventful bullpen session Sunday and will follow up with a second one Tuesday. If it's equally uneventful, Wright will slot into the rotation Friday night at home against Kansas City.

Wright (shoulder) could make his next start Friday against the Royals, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports. Manager John Farrell had been holding out that Wright could start Tuesday, but Clay Buchholz will make that start.
EDGE Analysis
Wright threw off the mound Sunday for the first time since Aug. 5 and said the shoulder was fine. He'll throw another session Tuesday and could re-enter the starting rotation Friday against the white-hot Royals.

Wright (shoulder) has not been ruled out of starting Tuesday's game against the Rays, according to manager John Farrell, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports. "Well, there has been a lot of conversation with Steven," Farrell said. "So, I think more than anything, I'm reserving that right to outline what Tuesday is after he gets off the mound [Sunday]."
EDGE Analysis
Possibly starting Tuesday may come as news to Wright, who stated Saturday that his injured shoulder wouldn't be ready in time. "It just doesn't seem smart to try to rush," Wright said Saturday. "I never was told I was pitching Tuesday. I was told that was the first day I was eligible to come off. Somehow there was a miscommunication with somebody saying I was pitching Tuesday. I wish I could." Wright will throw a bullpen session Sunday, though it will be an abbreviated one in which he doesn't even throw the full 60 feet. Despite what Farrell suggests might happen, all signs point to Clay Buchholz starting Tuesday with Wright slotting back in at some point in the following days.

Wright (shoulder) will throw two more bullpen sessions before potentially returning to the rotation, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright dispelled reports that he could return to the rotation Tuesday, stating instead that he's scheduled to throw bullpen sessions Sunday and Tuesday. Following Tuesday's session, he'll be reevaluated, and at that point it will be determined if/when he'll be slotted back into the rotation.

Wright (shoulder) will not throw a bullpen session Saturday, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Wright is said to be feeling better, he believes he needs more flat-ground work to prepare for a return to elevated ground and thus a return this upcoming Tuesday seems unlikely. Clay Buchholz, who tossed six-innings of one-run ball against the Tigers on Thursday, is the obvious candidate to take that turn.

Wright (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch next Tuesday against the Rays, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright has said that his shoulder isn't ready yet, but he's optimistic that it will be when he's eligible to come off the DL on Aug. 23. If he's not able to pitch next week, expect Clay Buccholz to continue taking the mound in place of Wright.

Wright (shoulder) is heading to the 15-day disabled list, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was believed to be a candidate to start Thursday but his shoulder must not have responded as well as the Red Sox had hoped. With his last start coming Aug. 5, Wright's stay on the disabled list could be a short one but that depends on the state of his injury. Expect further updates on the knuckleballer's status when a timetable on his return is established. Clay Buchholz will instead toe the rubber for Boston on Thursday.

Wright (shoulder) is scheduled to throw Monday and if his session goes well, he'll be a candidate to start Thursday, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright's progress in returning from a minor shoulder injury has been encouraging and now it appears that he could be back in the rotation within the next week. Provided Monday's throwing session goes without incident, look for Wright to get back on the mound shortly thereafter.
