Wright threw 37 pitches over two innings in live batting practice Wednesday and says he feels ready for games next week, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's still no timetable for when Wright will make his Grapefruit League debut, but it's likely to come within a week. The 2016 All-Star is competing for a back-end rotation spot - along with Drew Pomeranz (elbow) and Eduardo Rodriguez - despite posting a career-best 3.33 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 24 starts last season.

Wright threw live batting practice Friday, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has had a clean bill of health after offseason recovery from shoulder issues. With the future of David Price (elbow/forearm) in limbo, a healthy Wright likely would get a clear path to the Opening Day rotation, though expecting a repeat of his 3.33 ERA from his breakout 2016 remains ill-advised.

Wright (shoulder) said he feels 100 percent healthy after his side session Tuesday and will now go through his normal spring progression, the Providence Journal's Tim Britton reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will throw live batting practice Friday and will progress to game action. Wright will likely start the season as the Red Sox's fifth starter, but Eduardo Rodriguez will presumably join the rotation at some point (if he does not win a spot out of camp), so Wright could spend a good chunk of the summer working as a long reliever and swing man.

Wright (shoulder) threw a 45-pitch side session Sunday, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The knuckle-balling Wright is scheduled for his first live batting practice session later this week and is on pace to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Wright (shoulder) will pitch a live batting practice session sometime late next week, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
He suffered his shoulder injury in August and only pitched in two more games before missing the rest of the season. The knuckleballer sparkled last year with a 3.33 ERA in 156.2 innings but will be hard-pressed to repeat it. AL-only players should bid carefully, considering he still hasn't cemented a rotation job even if healthy.

Wright (shoulder) is on schedule with his rehab and is expected to be ready Opening Day, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old threw his first bullpen session of spring Monday, and the Red Sox are continuing to ease him back, with his next throwing session scheduled for Thursday. Manager John Farrell noted that he believes Wright will have enough time to get ready for the season, barring any setbacks, so it is something to be monitored as spring training progresses.

Wright indicated that his shoulder felt fine after throwing his first bullpen session since last October on Monday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boston is continuing to ease Wright back into things, as there is no need to rush the 32-year-old with the depth in their rotation. He said it "went about as well as it could've," so that is positive for the Red Sox, who are hoping the knuckleballer will serve as a swingman/long reliever next season.

Wright (shoulder) will throw off a mound Monday, the Boston Globe's Pete Abraham reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has been throwing long toss so far since reporting to camp and Monday will mark the first time he throws off a mound. Wright figures to be used out of the rotation at times this season, but the Red Sox's ideal deployment when everyone is healthy will be for the knuckleballer to serve as a swingman/long reliever while Drew Pomeranz and Eduardo Rodriguez occupy the last two spots in the rotation.

Wright (shoulder) has thrown long toss at spring training, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boston is planning to gradually ease Wright back to the mound and will have him continue throwing long toss for at least a week. Although the club is being careful with the 32-year-old righty, there's no reason to believe Wright won't be ready for the start of the upcoming season.

Wright (shoulder) reported to Fort Myers (Fla.) and played catch on the field Monday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright reports feeling no discomfort, but has yet throw off a mound. If healthy, we expect Wright to be Boston's fourth or fifth starter.
