Wright (1-1) allowed three runs -- just one earned -- on nine hits and a walk while striking out four batters over six innings during Monday's win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
After being rocked in consecutive outings and entering Monday's contest with a 13.50 ERA, this was a nice bounce-back showing from Wright. However, he still might be the odd-man out of the rotation once David Price (elbow) is healthy. Wright lines up to have a chance at redemption against the Orioles in his next start, but after he allowed eight runs -- including four home runs -- over just 1.1 innings to Baltimore April 12, he checks out as a risky fantasy option.

Wright (0-1) got crushed Wednesday, surrendering eight runs on eight hits -- including four home runs -- while recording only four outs in a 12-5 loss to the Orioles. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
His knuckleball was fooling nobody in this one, as four different Baltimore hitters took Wright deep in his brief time on the mound. His ERA now stands at a mammoth 13.50, and it could be a while before he's able to chip that number down to something more palatable, assuming he's even able to keep his rotation spot once other Boston hurlers start to get healthy. Wright's next start is scheduled for Monday at home against the Rays.

Wright (0-0) allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings, but received no decision Friday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Wright held the Tigers to just a single run through five innings before running into trouble that led to his exit in the seventh inning. He was in line for the loss, but a three-run blast by Pablo Sandoval in the eighth inning got him off the hook. Although it can be nerve-wracking to count on a knuckleballer as a fantasy option, he's posted a 3.58 ERA over 50 appearances in his four seasons in the majors, and this rough outing seems to be little cause for concern. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Orioles.

Wright is set to start for the Red Sox on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday's rainout muddied Boston's weekend plans, but the knuckleballer will simply be shifted to Friday, with Eduardo Rodriguez going Saturday and Rick Porcello toeing the rubber Sunday. Wright doesn't carry an overly positive outlook into the matchup with the Tigers.

Wright may remain in line for Friday's start despite the Thursday rainout, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eduardo Rodriguez was scheduled for the washed-out contest but may be pushed to Saturday as manager John Farrell is considering using the southpaw to split up the right-handed pitchers. Rick Porcello is on tap for Sunday. Keep an eye on how Farrell assigns the hurlers for the coming weekend series against the Tigers.

Wright pitched four innings against the Pirates on Tuesday wearing an elastic knee brace, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The morning after his appearance, Wright sported a larger metal brace in the clubhouse. The right-hander said the knee has been occasionally sore for a few weeks and that the brace was a precaution. He added the knee issue is not linked to any specific incident and that it hasn't affected his pitching. Wright had a 0.68 ERA in 13.1 spring innings spanning four starts. He'll pitch in an intrasquad tuneup this coming Sunday then is scheduled to start against Detroit on April 7.

Wright allowed two hits and one walk while striking out three over 4.1 scoreless innings Thursday against the Pirates. He threw 62 pitches.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Sox have to worry about David Price's elbow and Drew Pomeranz's triceps, but Wright's shoulder, the one that ended his 2016 season prematurely, has not been a problem. He remains as constant as ever and represents a stabilizing element in a rotation that faces some uncertainty. The knuckle-baller has yet to give up a run over 9.1 spring innings, allowing just four base-runners.

Wright allowed one walk and struck out one over three scoreless innings Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was used in relief Saturday, but there's been no decision to take him out of the rotation. He's on the same schedule as Rick Porcello, who started Saturday's game, so Wright piggy-backed on Porcello's start. Wright has five scoreless spring innings under his belt and hasn't allowed a hit yet.

Wright pitched two scoreless innings while making his Grapefruit League debut Monday against the Blue Jays, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was effective in his two innings, throwing 16 of his 21 pitches for strikes and working around a Brock Holt fielding error. The knuckleballer threw another 18 pitches on the side after coming out of the game. Wright, who mixed in a handful of fastballs and one curveball, said he was able to pitch without thinking about his shoulder or his mechanics. His priority going forward is to work on throwing high-quality knuckleballs for strikes which means consistency with his release point. With his late start to game action, Wright can make another four spring starts and be ready to roll in the regular season Apr. 7 in Detroit.

Wright will make his spring debut Monday against the Blue Jays, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Sox have taken a glacial pace with their injured starters who ended the last season dealing with injury. Both Wright (shoulder) and Drew Pomeranz (elbwo) have yet to make an appearance this spring. After Monday's start, there will be three or four more starts during camp for Wright before his first turn in the regular-season rotation. That should be enough to get him up to six-to-seven innings.
