Pearce continued his stellar season in Tuesday's victory over the Mariners, going 1-for-3 with a solo homer, walk and two runs.
EDGE Analysis
Initially acquired to primarily serve as part of a platoon, Pearce has definitively disabused the Rays of such notions with what is shaping up as the best season of his 10 major league campaigns. Following Tuesday's output, Pearce is now slashing .336/.412/.570 over 149 at-bats, with an 18.8 percent HR/FB rate that is the best of his career. His 36.3 percent hard contact rate serves as his second-best figure in that category as well, and he's now hit safely in seven of eight June contests. The 33-year-old is on pace for by far his best month to date this season, slashing .520/.538/.760 over his first 25 at-bats of June.

Pearce is not in the lineup against Arizona on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce has been dealing with some elbow tendinitis recently and Tampa Bay is choosing to give the first basemen the night off. The issue does not seem to be serious, however, as the Rays said that the 33-year-old would be available to pinch-hit and play first base. With inter-league play in full-swing and the DH position not available, Pearce is projected to get the next few days off and will likely return to the lineup when Tampa Bay returns home on Friday for a series with Houston.

Pearce is back in the lineup Saturday, batting cleanup as the Rays' designated hitter.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce has been battling some elbow discomfort of late, which led to him being out of the lineup for the past three games. He'll serve as the DH on Saturday, suggesting that he might not be quite ready to get back in the field yet. That said, Pearce being back in the lineup gives the Rays a much-needed power bat in the middle of the order Saturday.

Pearce is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran has been battling left elbow tendinits for much of the spring, and although he was able to play through it Tuesday, he'll sit out Wednesday against the Royals. There is hope that Pearce will be able to keep playing through the lingering soreness, but it appears that he'll need days off fairly routinely to avoid a DL stint.
