The veteran has been battling left elbow tendinits for much of the spring, and although he was able to play through it Tuesday, he'll sit out Wednesday against the Royals. There is hope that Pearce will be able to keep playing through the lingering soreness, but it appears that he'll need days off fairly routinely to avoid a DL stint.
