Pearce (elbow) is feeling better after receiving a cortisone shot, Joe Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Buck Showalter said that the team will know by Tuesday how they'll proceed with Pearce's injury. However, Pearce remains optimistic that he'll be able to avoid a stint on the DL. During Pearce's absence, Mark Trumbo is likely to get the bulk of the starts in right field.

Pearce got the start in right field Sunday and went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
EDGE Analysis
The start is noteworthy because James Shields, a right-hander, was on the mound for the White Sox. It was assumed when the Orioles picked up Pearce at the trade deadline that he would be used primarily in a platoon role against lefties but he could be in line for a larger role, especially if he keeps hitting.

Pearce is in the lineup Wednesday, batting sixth and playing right field.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday marks Pearce's 2016 debut with the Orioles after being traded from the Rays shortly before the trade deadline. The Orioles are facing lefty Cole Hamels on Wednesday, so Pearce's placement in the lineup coupled with Pedro Alvarez's omission could signal a future pattern of use for Pearce being used against southpaws. Pearce is hitting .389 with a 1.225 OPS against left-handed pitching this season over 54 at-bats.

Pearce was traded to the Orioles on Monday in exchange for Jonah Heim, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old will rejoin the Orioles, with whom he spent the 2013-2015 seasons, providing Baltimore with a versatile right-handed bat. Pearce has hit .309/.388/.520 with 10 homers and 29 RBI in 60 games this season but may very well see a reduction in playing time with Baltimore while serving in a utility role.

Pearce is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, MLB.com's Bill Chastain reports.
EDGE Analysis
The non-contending Rays are expected to deal Pearce, who will be a free agent this winter, prior to Monday's non-waiver trade deadline, so they'll hold him out of Sunday's lineup as a means of avoiding a late injury that would sink his trade value. With the ability to play both corner outfield spots along with first and second base while providing both power and on-base skills, Pearce should be a fit for a number of different contending clubs.

Pearce is hoping to avoid to getting dealt from the Rays before the July 31 nonwaiver trade deadline, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "I hope not," Pearce said (regarding a possible trade). "I like this team a lot. I have fun every day when I come here. ..."
EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder has enjoyed a stellar season for Tampa, with a .312 average and .912 OBP among his stellar numbers. Pearce joined the Rays on a bargain one-year, $4.75 million deal in the offseason, and expresses an affinity for his tenure with the team despite their overall struggles, which he feels don't accurately reflect the club's overall talent level. "We've just been hit with injuries and bad luck all year, " he said. "If you would've told me this would be our record in the middle of the year, I'd tell you you were crazy. There's no way our team is as bad as our record reflects. We have a really good team. I believe we still have a good team. We're going to have a good team in the future. And I hope I stay."

Pearce is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Logan Morrison (forearm) returning to the lineup and the game taking place in a National League park (no DH), Pearce was left out of Wednesday's lineup. He will be back in the mix this weekend when the Rays host the Yankees, although he could also be on the move at the trade deadline, as his .389/.484/.741 slash line against lefties ought to intrigue some contending teams.

Pearce is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays are giving Pearce the night off Thursday as they ease him back into action following his DL stint. Tim Beckham will get a turn at first base for the Rays as they face Sonny Gray and the A's.

Pearce hit his 10th homer in a 2-for-5 game with two RBI in Tuesday's win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce looked in top form in his first game back with the Rays since June 20 due to a hamstring injury. He was hitting a robust .322/.393/.540 with nine home runs and 25 RBI in 51 games before the injury, making him the Rays' best hitter and an excellent fantasy option.

Pearce (hamstring) has returned to the lineup Tuesday and will bat fifth in the order against the Rockies, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays have yet to announce their corresponding roster move, but Pearce is set to draw back in for Tuesday's contest. Pearce was on fire prior to hitting the disabled list, slashing .378/.404/.578 in the 14 games leading up to his hamstring injury.
