Greene tossed 6.1 solid innings Wednesday against Milwaukee, striking out six and allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. A Ryan Braun homer and a little rally in the seventh were all Greene allowed, and he left with the lead before the Detroit bullpen allowed the runner he left on base to score. Things were looking rough for Greene after he turned in three brutal outings in a row following his sparkling start to the year, but he's gotten back on track in a big way over these last three starts. Most importantly, his elbow seems to be okay.

Greene (elbow) has been confirmed as the starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Brewers. Greene was forced to leave his last start with soreness in hie elbow, but it turns out whatever setback Greene was dealing with was only minor. Greene was limited to just five innings in his last outing, but he has gotten back on track after giving up 20 earned runs in three starts between Apr. 24 and May 5, giving up just one earned run over his last 13 innings.

Greene (elbow) remains on track to make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Brewers, Matthew Mowery of the Oakland Press reports. Greene completed a successful light bullpen session Monday, and will continue along his normal progression after receiving favorable MRI results Saturday. At this point, it appears only an unforeseen soreness or other setback would prevent him from taking the hill Wednesday evening.

Greene (elbow) is being listed by the Tigers as the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports. Greene received some positive news Saturday when an MRI on the elbow injury that resulted in his removal from Friday's start against the Cardinals turned up negative, and there's a real possibility he won't have to miss a turn in the rotation because of it. Buck Farmer would have been the likely replacement for Greene if the big club needed a fill-in starter this week, but Farmer made his scheduled start Sunday for Triple-A Toledo, suggesting the Tigers are optimistic about Greene's chances of pitching Wednesday.

Greene's preliminary MRI results came back good, and manager Brad Ausmus indicated that "the level of concern is way down," Chris Iott of MLive.com reports. The news should provide owners with some relief, as it appears Greene's injury isn't a major concern anymore. It's still unclear how long he'll miss because of the injury, but it certainly doesn't sound as though he'll miss too many starts.

Greene felt no tingling or pain in his elbow prior to Saturday's MRI, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports. "I'm a little scared but like I said, there's no pain so I just gotta keep telling myself there's no pain and everything's going to be alright," Greene said. He felt a tingling in his right hand in the fifth inning of Friday night's game -- the same feeling he felt after elbow ligament replacement surgery in 2008. The Tigers do not know anything definitive with regard to the MRI Greene had Saturday, but it is a positive sign that he no longer feels pain. Still, elbow issues are obviously serious until they're not, so owners will want to monitor his status closely.

Greene (elbow) will receive an MRI after exiting Friday's game early, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports. Any setback for Greene would be disappointing for the Tigers, given that his ERA has come down to 4.21 and could continue falling thanks to his 3.53 FIP. Check back for an update on how the test goes.

Greene pitched five shutout innings, while striking out four, in a 10-4 win over St. Louis Friday night. Greene was pulled after just 74 pitches with a 2-0 lead and his bullpen was able to hold the fort for an eventual dominant win. This is back-to-back good starts for Greene going 13 combined innings and allowing only a single run. His next start comes at home next Wednesday when the Tigers host Milwaukee in an interleague game.

Shane Greene left Friday's game against the Cardinals with mild ulnar neuritis in the elbow and will be reevaluated tomorrow, Chris Lott of MLive.com reports. Greene had thrown five shutout innings and held a 2-0 lead before leaving the game. There will not be any further updates regarding his status until tomorrow, but Greene is in line to pitch next on Wednesday against the Brewers. He is currently 3-2 in seven starts and posting a 4.71 ERA on the season.

Greene rebounded from a string of rough starts with a solid outing against the Royals on Sunday, allowing just one run over eight innings pitched. He allowed just four hits and struck out three, but did not factor into the decision. The 26-year-old was lights out through his first three starts as a Tiger before allowing a whopping 20 runs combined through his next three starts. Sunday's strong showing lowered his ERA to 4.71 after it had ballooned to 5.56, to go along with a solid 1.19 WHIP. Greene will look to build on this performance in his next start on Friday against the Cardinals.
