Greene will have his next scheduled start moved up to Friday, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.
Greene will still face the Cardinals, but he'll do so on Friday instead of Saturday. The move will allow David Price (hamstring) to get a few extra days of rest before his next turn.

Greene (3-2) had his third straight poor outing Tuesday, walking four batters in 2.2 innings and giving up five earned runs on five hits.
Greene, after having three strong starts to begin the season, has been dreadful in his past three outings. In his two previous starts, he had given up 15 earned runs.

Greene got lit up for the second consecutive start Wednesday, giving up seven runs on nine hits against the Twins. He struck out eight and avoided taking a loss thanks to a comeback engineered by the Tigers' offense.
This was a case of Greene probably being around the plate a little too much -- he threw just 25 balls among 85 pitches and didn't walk anyone while generating eight of his 13 outs via strikeout. But he also gave up a raft of hits, two of which cleared the fences. He's now lasted a grand total of 8.1 innings over his last two starts, allowing 15 runs on 19 hits in that span. We knew Greene's early success was unsustainable, but he's not this bad. He'll try to right the ship against the White Sox on Tuesday.

Greene was torched for eight runs on nine hits, walking two and striking out just one over four innings of a 13-1 loss to Cleveland Friday night.
Now 3-1 with a still admirable 3.00 ERA, Greene was almost untouchable in his first three starts, but the wheels came off in this one. He has good but not great stuff so this could be a case of just bringing his season numbers more in line. He'll attempt to get back on track next time out.

Greene tossed 7.0 innings of one-run ball against the White Sox on Sunday to pick up his third consecutive win to start the season.
The right-hander has been so good to start the year that the run he allowed, which was his first of the season, actually raised his ERA to 0.39. Greene is inducing ground balls at a high rate, limiting base-runners for the most part and has received tremendous run support during his short tenure with the Tigers. He will look to keep it rolling at home against the Indians next week.

Greene will be moved up in the rotation and will make a second start this week Sunday at home against the White Sox, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The Tigers will operate with a four-man rotation since they have an off day this week, with the hopes of adding Justin Verlander (triceps) to the rotation next week. So far Simon has handsomely rewarded those who bought into the preseason sleeper buzz surrounding him, as he sits at 2-0 and has not allowed a run while boasting a 0.50 WHIP through two starts (16 innings).

Green caught lightning in a bottle again Tuesday, pitching eight innings of three-hit shutout ball in a 2-0 win over the Pirates. He struck out three and issued no walks.
He fired just 81 pitches through eight innings and improved to 2-0. This is a great start, but remember -- he's a fringe relief prospect who was forced into starting duty last year with the Yanks. It's a little early to declare a breakout just yet.

Greene (1-0) impressed in his first start of the year Thursday against Minnesota, allowing just an unearned run on four hits and a walk over eight innings while striking out five.
This is a sparkling start to Greene's career in Detroit, and one that should have fantasy owners remembering that he was a relatively competent rotation option for the Yankees last year who may be taking a step forward with his move to a more pitching-friendly ballpark.

Greene used his changeup effectively in his start against the Cardinals on Saturday, MLive.com reports.
While the changeup was a fourth offering for Greene last season, he used it less than five percent of the time. He struck out all three left-handed hitters that he faced in the first inning Saturday, and continuing to use the changeup effectively will be important for Greene as he tries to neutralize left-handed bats more consistently after they hit a combined .281/.365/.400 against him last season.

Greene was tagged for three runs on six hits over two innings in his spring debut for the Tigers on Sunday.
He struck out a pair, but the Astros were able to get to him in the shortened outing. Greene has a reasonably firm hold on the fifth starter job to begin the season, and there is little reason to panic over a poor two-inning showing in March.
