Greene said after Wednesday's bullpen session that he feels ready to rejoin the rotation, the Oakland Press reports. "At this point, everything feels really good, everything's coming out real well," Greene said.
EDGE Analysis
Despite Greene's insistence that he's ready, there remains a very real chance that he'll need a brief minor league rehab assignment. Manager Brad Ausmus said previously that Greene would likely make at least one rehab start. Regardless, it sounds like Greene is close to a return. He will presumably push Michael Fulmer back to the minors upon activation.

Greene (finger) threw a 50-pitch bullpen session Tuesday while using all of his pitches without issue, Tony Paul of DetroitNews.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The blister on Greene's finger is apparently gone, which bodes well for the continuation of his rehab process. As long as everything goes as planned, the right-hander should be able to begin a rehab assignment soon.

Greene (finger) threw long toss Tuesday, Katie Strang of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greene suffered a setback during a bullpen session last week, but he reported after Tuesday's throwing that his finger is no longer bleeding. It sounds as though he may still need some time before returning, but it's an encouraging development in his recovery.

Greene (finger) had a minor setback during a bullpen session on Thursday and will miss another start, reports MLive.com.
EDGE Analysis
The tip of Greene's blistered finger split open and started bleeding again. He won't be cleared for game action until that digit callouses over. Here's hoping it's just one more game missed.

Greene (finger) was placed on the 15-day DL on Friday, retroactive to April 25.
EDGE Analysis
Greene has been the Tigers' fifth starter in the rotation and is off to a shaky start, posting a 6.28 ERA in 14.3 innings pitched. Michael Fulmer will take Greene's place in the rotation until he is fully healthy.

Greene (finger) is headed for the disabled list, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greene's placement on the disabled list might not be official for another day or two, but the move will be retroactive to April 25, so he will be eligible to rejoin the big club May 10. Greene owns a 6.28 ERA on the season, but most of that damage was done in one start, so there's a good chance he jumps back into the rotation when healthy. However, top prospect Michael Fulmer will join the rotation in Greene's place and could make a push for his spot.

Manager Brad Ausmus indicated after Sunday's game that Greene (blister) won't pick up a baseball for three days and didn't rule out placing him on the disabled list, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greene pitched just three innings before leaving Sunday's game, allowing a run on two hits and two walks. The fact that he won't go through his normal routine could put his next scheduled start Friday in danger, but more on the situation should be revealed in the coming days.

Greene departed Sunday's game against the Indians in the fourth inning with a blister on his middle finger, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's good news for Greene owners, as the issue shouldn't cost him much time. If the 27-year-old hurler were forced to miss a start because of it, Matt Boyd seems the likely candidate to make a spot start, but the team should address that situation in the coming days.

Greene exited Sunday's game against the Indians in the fourth inning with an apparent hand injury, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greene was looked at by the trainer after issuing a walk to Francisco Lindor and ended up walking down the tunnel to the clubhouse. Consider him day-to-day for the time being, but the Tigers should update his status again in the coming days, establishing a clearer timetable. If he were to miss beyond Sunday, Matt Boyd and Michael Fulmer seem the likely candidates to take his next scheduled turn in the rotation.

Greene (1-1) allowed seven runs on six hits and four walks over 4.1 innings as he took the loss Tuesday against Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Greene didn't give up any home runs but was touched up for three doubles as the Royals hit him hard all night. Greene threw just 10 first-pitch strikes to 23 batters and had minimal control with just 49 strikes in 85 pitches. Greene earned the win in a quality start in his only other start this year, but this disaster leaves him with a 7.15 ERA.
