Lugo (elbow) threw 42 pitches in 3.2 scoreless innings in his first rehab appearance Thursday for High-A St. Lucie. He allowed just two hits and did not walk or strike out a batter, the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lugo, who has a slightly torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, has steadily advanced in his rehab without any setbacks. The number of appearances he makes may depend on if he will rejoin the Mets as a long-reliever or starter. If it's the latter, Lugo will need to throw between 75-85 pitches in a rehab outing before he rejoins the team, which likely will occur in early-June. The Mets' rotation has underachieved and an opening does exist if Lugo shows he is healthy.

Lugo (elbow) will make a rehab appearance at High-A Port Lucie on Thursday, Matt Ehalt of the Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lugo has been throwing without issue at extended spring training and remains on track for an early June return to the majors. It remains to be seen whether or not a starting spot will be available when he's healthy, but it's possible given the struggles the Mets have had keeping their starters healthy this season.

Lugo threw two innings (30 pitches) in an extended spring training game Saturday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lugo and Steven Matz (elbow) seem to be on similar paths, as they took on identical workloads in their first appearances in extended spring training. Perhaps Lugo is being prepared for a starting role -- it's not out of the question given the injury to Noah Syndergaard (lat), Zack Wheeler's innings limit and the struggles at the back end of the rotation. He could be back by early-to-mid June, but remember that Lugo does have a slight UCL tear.

Lugo (elbow) will throw in extended spring training Saturday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets are looking at early June as a best-case scenario for Lugo's return -- same with Steven Matz (elbow). Lugo was diagnosed with a slight UCL tear in early March but opted against surgery. It's uncertain what his role will be upon activation.

Lugo (elbow) was able to throw a 20-pitch side session off the rubber Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
In his most recent throwing session Sunday, Lugo was restricted to tossing off the slope of the mound, so the fact that he was on top of the mound two days later marks a small step forward. The right-hander opened the season as the Mets' long man out of the bullpen, but if he meets his goal of returning from the disabled list by late May, Lugo could assume a rotation spot with Noah Syndergaard (back) at risk of missing the next several months.

Lugo (elbow) is slated to throw off the slope of a mound Sunday and is targetting a late May return, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports.
EDGE Analysis
This will be the first time he throws off an elevated surface since getting shut down with a slight UCL tear. Robert Gsellman, Zack Wheeler and Matt Harvey have all had their struggles, and Noah Syndergaard is day-to-day with biceps tendinitis, so it's possible Lugo could find his way into the rotation once healthy. However, Steven Matz (elbow) is at the same stage in his recovery, and he figures to get the first look if the Mets need to add a starter.

Lugo (elbow) is ready to resume throwing off a mound, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lugo has been limited to long toss on flat ground lately, and after increasing his distance to 120 feet, the Mets will likely clear him to advance to the next phase of the recovery process. The Mets are still inclined to tread cautiously with the right-hander, who has been sidelined with a partial UCL tear, so he'll likely gradually increase his pitch counts in bullpen sessions before he's cleared to face hitters. The team doesn't have an official timetable for Lugo's return, but given the nature of his injury and where he's at in his recovery, he'll likely remain out for another couple of weeks or longer.

Lugo (elbow) threw Thursday and "everything was good," Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite being diagnosed with a partial tear of his UCL, Lugo seems to be doing fine without going under the knife. It's unclear how quickly the Mets plan to move him through his throwing program, but it's safe to assume he'll continue to build up arm strength for the next week or so before resuming mound work afterward.

Lugo (elbow) won't start his throwing program until Wednesday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was initially tabbed to begin the program Tuesday, but the Mets opted to give him one more day to rest prior to embarking on this leg of his rehab process. This likely won't have much of an impact on his return date, although an exact timetable for Lugo's return is still murky.

Lugo (elbow) will begin a throwing program Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
After taking two weeks off to recover from the slight UCL tear in his throwing elbow, Lugo will take the first step in getting back on the mound. He's set to throw from approximately 60 feet Tuesday, and will likely increase his distance gradually in the days to follow. Lugo still appears to be quite a ways off facing hitters, so it seems unlikely that he'll come off the disabled list until at least May.
