Lugo has a slight UCL tear in his elbow and has received a PRP injection in an effort to avoid surgery, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.

He was prescribed rest, and the team is hopeful that surgery won't be needed. Lugo, who has one of the best curveballs in the game, was battling for a rotation spot in camp, but would have likely opened the year in the big-league bullpen or the Triple-A rotation, even if he remained healthy. Once he returns, he is worth a flyer in deeper formats in case he works his way into the rotation, but he can be cut loose for now in the majority of single-season formats.
