Manaea (1-1) allowed just one run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 6.2 innings in a win Monday against Texas.
EDGE Analysis
In his fourth major league start, Manaea managed the first quality start of his career as he bounced back well from a disastrous outing last time out in Boston (2.2 IP, 10 H, 8 R). Manaea managed to keep the ball in the park despite serving up 10 fly balls. He had allowed four home runs in his first three starts, and he'll have to continue to show he can avoid the long ball if he's going to recover from his tough start to post a solid rookie season.

Manaea served up eight runs on 10 hits over just 2.2 innings in a loss Tuesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea was touched up for a pair of home runs in the first inning and was chased after six hits, including five consecutive, in the third inning. All of Manaea's starts thus far have been ruined by a single bad inning, as he allowed three runs in the fifth inning his first time out against Houston and four runs in the same frame in his previous start against Seattle. Manaea dominated Triple-A, with 21 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA in three starts, but major league hitters are having little trouble figuring him out.

Manaea allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings while striking out six and walking one in his second big league start Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The A's pulled him after just 75 pitches, thanks in large part to a four-run fifth inning from the Seattle offense. Manaea served up a mammoth two-run homer to Nelson Cruz in that frame, but he had tossed four scoreless innings prior to his meltdown the third time through the batting order. Currently, he's lined up to face the Red Sox at Fenway Park in his next scheduled start.

Manaea allowed four runs in five innings while striking out three in his major league debut on Friday night against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea allowed one run through the first five innings, but ran into trouble in the sixth inning allowing three straight batters to reach base without getting an out. His line got uglier after Sean Doolittle entered the game and allowed two inherited runners to score. Manaea looked good in the first five innings, but the four walks allowed are a concern. He is expected to stick in the A's rotation and will next take the mound on Wednesday against Seattle.

Manaea's contract was selected from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea will receive the start in Friday's game against the Astros after posting a 1.50 ERA with 21 strikeouts at the Triple-A level this season. It is unknown how long Manaea will stay with the A's during this stint, but manager Bob Melvin has not ruled out an extended stay for the 24-year-old.

Manaea has posted a 19:1 K:BB over 16 innings in three starts with High-A Wilmington since returning from an oblique injury in late June.
It's reasonable to think that a promotion to Double-A is looming for Manaea, as he's already logged 27 starts in the Carolina League while handling the competition there capably. The Royals may have to consider flipping Manaea to acquire upgrades to the big league roster at the July 31 trade deadline, as he's currently the organization's top pitching prospect.

Manaea (oblique) will get the start Monday at High-A Wilmington, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Manaea, who is yet to pitch in a game this season, will make his first start of the year Monday at High-A. It's unclear how long he'll be down in High-A, however, as he dominated the competition at that level last year with a 3.11 ERA and 146 strikeouts in 121.2 innings.

Manaea (oblique) will make one more start at extended spring training in Arizona before being reassigned, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Manaea tweaked his groin last month while rehabbing an oblique injury, and the expectation is that he'll be sent to Double-A Northwest Arkansas once healthy. It's possible he could return to High-A Wilmington, where he starred last season, but the team would likely prefer that he advance to the next level.

Manaea (oblique) tweaked his groin and probably won't be sent to Double-A Northwest Arkansas until the third week of June, the Kansas City Star's Andy McCullough reports.
The 31st overall pick in the 2014 draft, Manaea has yet to pitch this season because of an abdominal strain, and the added groin injury will further delay his 2015 debut. He flashed his immense potential with High-A Wilmington last year, posting a 3.11 ERA and 10.8 K/9 over 121.1 innings.

Manaea (oblique) is about two weeks away from being sent to High-A Wilmington, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
He threw one inning of relief against hitters in extended spring training Saturday, but his rehab has been a bit slower than anticipated. A 6-foot-5 lefty with a big fastball, Manaea is one of the best pitching prospects in the minor leagues when healthy, so it will be nice to see him get back into minor league action. He should be with Double-A Northwest Arkansas in short order if he can log a few solid starts with Wilmington.
