Manaea (3-6) allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts in a loss Tuesday to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea was having his best run of the season, with a 1.69 ERA and 26 strikeouts and zero walks over his previous four starts entering Tuesday night. However, his control wasn't as sharp as it had been, and he was touched up for a pair of home runs which accounted for all five runs. Manaea did induce 14 swinging strikes, but he has now allowed 14 home runs in 15 starts, and he'll have to keep the ball in the yard to improve his 4.68 ERA.

Manaea (3-5) pitched eight-scoreless innings, but walked away with a no-decision in Friday's 13-inning affair against the A's. He allowed five hits and struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea didn't surrender a run for the third since coming off the disabled list on June 29 with a left forearm strain, bringing his ERA to 2.47 in his last five starts. His seven strikeouts were one shy of his career high, and the lefty has now made three consecutive appearances (20 innings) without allowing a walk. Manaea mainly utilized his fastball and changeup -- something he's doing more frequently as the season progresses -- and mixed in his slider. The 24-year-old retired the first 14 batters he faced, striking out six, and saw his ERA drop from 5.13 to 4.61 by the end of the evening.

Manae struck out six and did not issue a walk across seven shutout innings Sunday versus Houston. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander was rocked in his previous start and faced a difficult road matchup Sunday, but he delivered perhaps the finest outing of his young career, although his offense was unable to pick him up versus Dallas Keuchel. Manae still owns a hefty 5.24 ERA, but he has shown flashes of the pedigree that made him a top prospect and will look to achieve some consistency heading out of the All-Star break.

Manaea (3-5) allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts in Tuesday's loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea pounded the zone with 19 first-pitch strikes to 25 hitters and 55 strikes out of 88 pitches, but the Twins were ready for everything he threw at them. He gave up two homers and three doubles out of those seven hits. This marks the third time already this season Manaea has served up multiple home runs as the long ball continues to haunt him, as 10 home runs in 10 starts have helped to push his ERA up to 5.85.

Manaea had a strong return from the DL Thursday, shutting out the Giants over 5.2 innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
This was Manaea's first start since June 13th after hitting the DL with a muscle strain in his forearm. He has shown some nice flashes during this rookie season, but Wednesday was one of his better complete starts as he avoided the big inning which has been plaguing him so far. Manaea is next scheduled to take the hill Tuesday in Minnesota.

Manaea (arm) was reinstated from the 15-day DL on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea is expected to start Wednesday's game against the Giants. The 24-year-old has struggled this season, posting a 6.02 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in nine starts and will now have to face a strong San Francisco lineup.

Manaea (arm) is slated to come off the DL to start Wednesday's game against the Giants, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea will spend only the minimum 15 days on the disabled last while nursing a strained muscle in his left forearm. The southpaw made a rehab start at High-A Stockton on Friday, so he'll enter Wednesday's start on a regular four days of rest.

Manaea (arm) threw 39 pitches off the mound Tuesday, and will see time Friday with High-A Stockton during a rehab outing, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea was placed on the 15-day DL on June 14 after leaving a start the night before due to a pronator muscle strain in his left forearm. He seems to have progressed well over the last week and should be able to return to the team once he can be activated off the disabled list June 29. Manaea is 2-4 this season with a 6.02 ERA during 49.1 innings with the A's.

Manaea (arm) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Sunday, John Hickey of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Athletics are planning to have Manaea perform one more bullpen session before determining if he's ready to begin a rehab assignment. He won't be eligible to come off the DL until June 29, but he's endured no setbacks that would suggest he'll miss much more than the minimum 15 days.

Manaea's MRI showed his injury is "muscular and minor" in nature, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Many feared the worst after Manaea left Monday's game with a pronator muscle strain in his left forearm, but fortunately, no ligament damage was found in his MRI. As a result, the team is optimistic Manaea could make a quick turnaround, perhaps after missing just the minimum 15 days. Zach Neal is an option to start a couple games in the meantime.
