Baker labored through 4.1 innings Friday night, giving up five earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three in a loss to the Mariners.
Coming off of back-to-back solid efforts, Baker was unable to keep it going Friday night. The veteran right-hander has pitched mostly out of bullpen this season, but has now seen three consecutive turns in the Rangers' rotation. His role going forward is a bit up in the air, but a possible fourth straight start for Baker would likely come on Thursday versus the Angels or Friday against the Braves.

Baker will have start moved back to Friday against the Mariners, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Baker would've faced that Mariners had he been given the OK to pitch Thursday, so moving back a day won't change his predicament too much. Robbie Ross moves up a day to start Friday.

Baker will make another start with Miles Mikolas still sidelined with shoulder discomfort, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Baker was been surprisingly effective in his recent spot starts for Texas, though it remains to be seen if he'll remain in the rotation beyond just the one start.

Baker turned in a solid 6.1 innings Friday night, limiting the Astros to two earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three in a winning effort.
Make it back-to-back strong outings for Baker, as the veteran right-hander has allowed just three earned runs and posted a 1.15 WHIP across 11.1 innings during his last two starts. Though he has pitched well enough to earn at least one more round in the rotation, Baker is likely headed back to the Rangers' bullpen with the impending return of Derek Holland (knee) on Tuesday.

Baker had one of his best starts of the season on Sunday, holding Kansas City to five hits and one run over five innings.
Due to countless injuries in their rotation, the Rangers have had to call on Baker out of necessity more than anything else, but he came up huge on Sunday. The right-hander, who still owns an unsightly 5.45 ERA in 66 innings this season, takes on the Astros in Houston in his next assignment on Friday.

Baker will start Sunday's game against the Royals.
With Derek Holland and Yu Darvish both taking longer to return to the mound than expected, the Rangers will essentially wave the white flag Sunday. Baker has a woeful 6.97 ERA in 20.2 innings as a starter this season, and there's no reason to expect him to be any more effective on Sunday.

Baker could start Sunday's game against the Royals, Fox Sports Southwest's Anthony Andro reports.
The Rangers' rotation is a mess, and with Yu Darvish and Derek Holland both taking longer to return from injuries than originally anticipated, Baker could see a spot start Sunday. Even so, he has a 6.97 ERA in 20.2 innings as a starter this season, so it's hard to make a case for starting Baker in any format.

Scott Baker allowed nine hits and five runs over four innings in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.
Baker owns a 6.24 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 53 1/3 innings this season. The 32-year-old shouldn't be rostered in any formats.

Scott Baker, filling in for Yu Darvish, took his second loss of the season after allowing three runs over 4 2/3 innings on Thursday against the Orioles.
Darvish was bumped due to inclement weather, as the Rangers didn't want to waste their ace if the game happened to be called early. For pitching on short notice, Baker wasn't bad, allowing seven hits and walking one while striking out two. Baker has been serving as a long man out of the Rangers' bullpen and will return to the role. He has a 5.80 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP and a 29/7 K/BB ratio.

Scott Baker will start for the Rangers on Tuesday night against the Twins.
He is filling in for Yu Darvish, who was a late scratch due to neck discomfort. Baker has allowed eight earned runs in 11 1/3 innings this year for injury-plagued Texas.
