Mets manager Terry Collins said Ruben Tejada won't be allowed to run for at least the next two days due to "point tenderness" in his injured right quad.
Obviously, he will not begin a rehab assignment Monday as hoped. If he's able to start running again soon, Tejada shouldn't need more than a couple rehab games before rejoining the Mets. He was batting .305/.362/.400 over his first 117 plate appearances this season before landing on the DL.

Mets manager Terry Collins hopes Ruben Tejada (quad) will be ready to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Monday.
Tejada is currently rehabbing in extended spring training in Florida. It's not clear which minor league affiliate he'll be joining, but he'll likely only need a handful of games before he's ready to return. The 22-year-old shortstop was batting .305/.362/.400 over his first 117 plate appearances this season prior to suffering a right quad strain on May 6.

Ruben Tejada (quad) has yet to be cleared to resume baseball-related activities.
He's been on the DL for a week, so it's safe to say that he won't be returning when eligible on May 22. Ronny Cedeno will continue to handle shortstop while Tejada is out.

Mets placed SS Ruben Tejada on the 15-day disabled list with a right quad strain.
Tejada suffered the injury Sunday after stumbling and falling face-first into first base. Justin Turner and Jordany Valdespin will split playing time at shortstop for now, but the Mets are hopeful Ronny Cedeno (intercostal strain) will be able to come off the disabled list by the end of the week. None are very exciting from a fantasy perspective.
