Mets manager Terry Collins said that Ruben Tejada (groin) may not return to the lineup until Tuesday.
Tejada hasn't played since Sunday due to a left groin strain. There's a chance he could return Sunday, but the Mets may just wait until after the off-day on Monday.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Tuesday that Ruben Tejada's groin injury is not a major concern.
"It's not serious," Collins told reporters. "It doesn't have to be here. You need an aspirin, you're off for a day." Tejada was scratched from Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals after feeling tightness in his groin during infield practice. But it sounds like he'll be back in action by the end of this week.

Ruben Tejada was scratched from Tuesday's Grapefruit League lineup due to a left groin strain.
Omar Quintanilla will get the start at shortstop instead. The Mets aren't saying whether the injury is serious, but groin strains are usually more than a "day-to-day" thing. Tejada could miss more than a week of spring games, which may have a negative impact on his ability to get properly tuned up for the start of the regular season.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Wednesday that he would have liked to see Ruben Tejada arrive to camp early.
Tejada ran into a bit of a delay in his native Panama due to a visa issue, but is expected to arrive by the required report date on Saturday. It's ultimately not a big issue, but Collins clearly wanted his new everyday shortstop to show some initiative.

Ruben Tejada is expected to arrive in Mets' camp on Saturday.
Tejada would have reported to Port St. Lucie even sooner, but he was delayed due to visa problems in his native Panama. The 22-year-old batted .284/.360/.335 over 376 plate appearances in 2011 and is expected to replace Jose Reyes as the Mets' primary shortstop this season.

Ruben Tejada went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI to help the Mets come back and beat the Cardinals 8-6 on Thursday.
Tejada had a two-run double during the Mets' six-run ninth inning. He also worked a bases-loaded walk in the fifth for the team's lone run off starter Jake Westbrook. It's the sixth time in nine games that Tejada has managed multiple hits, and he has his average up to .280. With his performance this year, he's the obvious choice to step in at shortstop for the Mets next year if Jose Reyes leaves.

Mets optioned INF Ruben Tejada to Triple-A Buffalo.
The move was made before Wednesday's game. Tejada was moved off the roster to make room for Jose Thole's return from the paternity leave list. The 21-year-old is expected to play shortstop everyday on the Triple-A level.

Ruben Tejada is not in Thursday's lineup against the Athletics.
It's probably for the best, as Tejada is batting just .103 with 11 strikeouts over his last 29 at-bats. Justin Turner will play second base Thursday while Daniel Murphy starts at third and Lucas Duda plays first.
