According to the New York Post, Ruben Tejada's MRI results are ''not good,'' and a stint on the disabled list is ''very likely.'' The final decision on Tejada won't be made until he's evaluated on Monday, but his injury has been tentatively diagnosed as a strained right quad. Jordany Valdespin, who was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo Saturday, is a candidate to replace him on the roster.

The Mets are fairly confident that Ruben Tejada, who is headed for an MRI, strained his right quad. If that is the case, Tejada is DL-bound. David Lennon of Newsday speculates that the Mets could promote Jordany Valdespin, who was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo Saturday, to replace Tejada on the roster if the the shortstop hits the shelf. Tejada left Sunday's game in the fourth inning after stumbling and falling face-first into first base. In addition to the MRI on his quad, he will have his eye examined.

Ruben Tejada will receive an MRI on his right quad and will also get his eye checked out after leaving Sunday's game following an awkward fall onto first base. The Mets announced that he left with a quad injury, but manager Terry Collins said he's more worried about Tejada's eye after the shortstop did a face plant on first base. We'll let you know the results of Tejada's exam once they're released.

Ruben Tejada left Sunday's game in the fourth inning with a right quad strain after stumbling and falling face-first into first base. Tejada was motionless on the ground for a few moments before eventually standing up. He was diagnosed with a right quad strain and replaced by Justin Turner at shortstop. It's not clear at this point if Tejada will require an MRI.

Ruben Tejada had three of the Mets' seven hits Wednesday, including his ninth and 10th doubles. Tejada figured to add power with age, but it didn't seem likely to come this quickly. He has 10 extra-base hits in 95 at-bats this season after finishing with 13 in 216 at-bats in 2010 and 16 in 328 at-bats last year.

Ruben Tejada is expected to get the day off Wednesday. Tejada has started all nine games for the Mets so far, so Mets' manager Terry Collins will use Wednesday's matinee as an opportunity to rest him. Ronny Cedeno will start in his place.

Batting leadoff, Ruben Tejada went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Braves. Tejada's first four hits of the season helped pace the Mets to an unexpected sweep of the Braves. He tagged both Mike Minor and Cristhian Martinez for doubles. Tejada is a slap hitter with limited power and speed, but is at least worth monitoring in deeper mixed leagues if you need middle infield help.

Ruben Tejada hit a three-run homer Monday to help the Mets beat the Braves 8-2. Tejada is hitting .250/.340/.455 with a couple of homers this spring. He's been batting leadoff of late with Andres Torres sidelined, but he's still expected to bat eighth most of the time when Torres is in the lineup.

Ruben Tejada homered and walked Thursday against the Astros. He's 5-for-16 with three walks this spring. Tejada is penciled into the eighth spot in the Mets' lineup, but he may well prove to be a better choice to lead off than Andres Torres. He did hit first today with Torres sidelined, and he might hold on to the spot if Torres needs to start the year on the DL.
