Ruben Tejada (quad) is expected to move his rehab assignment Thursday to Triple-A Buffalo. Tejada has been sidelined since early May with a quad strain, but this is obviously notable progress. He's already had a couple setbacks, so the Mets aren't likely to rush him back.

Updating a previous item, Ruben Tejada (quad) will begin his rehab assignment Monday at Triple-A Buffalo. His timetable for returning is still a bit of a moving target, but it's at least a sign that he's headed in the right direction. Tejada has been on the disabled list since May 7 with a right quad strain.

Ruben Tejada (quad) is expected to begin his rehab assignment Monday. He participated in running drills Friday but has been limited to light jogging since aggravating his right quad injury during a rehab game last week. The timetable for his return is still a moving target, but early-July is a possibility.

Mets manager Terry Collins revealed after Tuesday's game that Ruben Tejada (quad) is being pulled off his rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo. Tejada left his rehab game on Tuesday after aggravating his right quad injury. He'll head to the team's complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida and it's anyone's guess when he'll be ready to return.

Ruben Tejada left Tuesday's rehab game with Triple-A Buffalo after aggravating his right quad injury. No word yet on how severe the aggravation is, but we'll pass along word when we get it. Tejada had been slated to return this weekend, but that obviously won't happen now.

Ruben Tejada (quad) has been cleared to participate in running exercises. Tejada was in New York for treatment earlier this week, and is likely to be sent on a brief minor league rehab assignment. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said it's realistic he could be back within the week.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Friday that it's realistic Ruben Tejada (quad) could be back within the week. Good news. Tejada has been in New York this week to get treatment on his injured right quad, but this would suggest that he's making progress. Look for him to go out on a brief minor league rehab assignment soon.

Ruben Tejada will remain in New York through Friday to get treatment on his injured right quad. Tejada was examined Tuesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan after experiencing some lingering tenderness while attempting to run over the weekend. If he makes progress over the next couple of days, he'll return to the Mets' complex in Florida in order to continue his rehab. The Mets originally hoped to have Tejada back from the disabled list this weekend, but that's clearly not happening now.

Ruben Tejada is currently having his injured right quad examined in New York. Tejada's rehab process has taken a little longer than initially expected, as he was shut down from running over the weekend due to some lingering tenderness in his quad. He was able to serve as the DH on Monday in an extended spring training game, but that he was sent back to New York doesn't exactly paint the picture of someone who is close to returning.
