Roy Oswalt (back) yielded a season-high 12 hits against the Giants Sunday in his first start since June 23.
Oswalt was predictably rusty as he struck out just four and walked two while giving up three earned runs. Still, the good news is that Oswalt was able to throw 93 pitches without any apparent issues. He figures to improve with subsequent starts, although owners should be aware that Oswalt is no longer dominant. Even before going on the DL, he had given up 77 hits in 71 1/3 innings this season.
