Refsnyder went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's spring training game.
EDGE Analysis
Refsnyder got on base three times in the contest, also drawing a pair of walks in addition to the round tripper. The 24-year-old is stating his case to crack the big league Opening Day roster, where he'd likely be deployed as utility infield option. The righty put up decent numbers against left-handed pitching in a limited sample size last season, slashing .267/.333/.333, so it's possible he could work his way into the short side of a platoon to give either Chase Headley or Didi Gregorious more days off during the season.

Refsnyder and Starlin Castro will both get reps at third base this spring, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Castro expected to get most of the playing time at second base, any added defensive versatility would be a positive development for Refsnyder's value. Despite his solid work in 16 games for the big club last season, Refsnyder will likely start his 2016 campaign either in a bench role or with Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes-Barre.

Refsnyder is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Refsnyder got the call at second base for both games of Saturday's doubleheader, the Yankees will go back to a more normal lineup for the season finale, as Dustin Ackley takes over at second base. Refsnyder isn't expected to be included on the Yankees' postseason roster, but he could still compete for the everyday second base role in spring training.

Refsnyder went 3-for-8 over both games of Saturday's doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
Refsnyder has started receiving regular playing time at the keystone, starting each of the past four games and five of the previous six. The 24-year-old has taken advantage, raising his average to .302, and figures to get the chance to start against lefties for as far as the Yankees advance in the postseason.

Refsnyder went 2-for-4 with one RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
With Stephen Drew sidelined and likely out for the season, Refsnyder has entered somewhat of a platoon at the keystone with Dustin Ackley. The 24-year-old has taken advantage of the bump in playing time, hitting .368 since being called back up to the majors at the beginning of the month.

Refsnyder was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Refsnyder had a short run as the Yankees' starting second baseman in July, but with Stephen Drew getting back on track a bit over the last few weeks, he is looking at a part-time role this time around. Expect the majority of his action to come against left-handed pitchers.

The Yankees have confirmed that Refsnyder will be recalled when rosters expand Tuesday, Ryan Hatch of The Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old didn't make much of an impact in limited action with the Yankees earlier this year, nor has he impressed with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, hitting just .270/.359/.398 with a dozen steals in 116 games. He'll likely occupy a reserve infield role down the stretch.

The New York Yankees optioned second baseman Rob Refsnyder to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, according to Newsday. He was sent down to make room on the 25-man roster for outfielder Carlos Beltran, who was activated from the 15-day disabled list Sunday after recovering from an oblique injury. Refsnyder is considered one of the top position players in the Yankees' minor-league system, but he started just four games after being called up before the All-Star break. He went 2-for-12 with one home run, and rather than letting him continue to develop in the majors, the Yankees will revert back to Stephen Drew, who is hitting just .182 with 12 home runs and 25 RBI in 79 games this season. Refsnyder had been playing well in the minors this season, hitting .290 with seven home runs, 37 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 81 games.
