Refsnyder will be the Yankees' everyday first baseman going forward according to manager Joe Girardi, the Lohud Yankees Blog reports.
EDGE Analysis
Say this for the Yankees' first base situation, it probably wasn't Refsnyder's .208/.259/.375 line that got him the everyday job. With Chris Parmelee (hamstring) hitting the DL, joining Mark Teixeira, Greg Bird, and Dustin Ackley, Refsnyder is the bench bat on the Yankees' roster that doesn't have significant playing time obligation elsewhere. His production in the majors comes from too small a sample to accurately predict his production going forward, but his .284/.366/.420 line in three seasons at Triple-A gives an indication that he should reach base at an okay clip while hitting for very little power.
