Davis led off the sixth inning of Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh with a 390 ft. home run to deep left center off starter Francisco Liriano. It was his first home run of the season. Davis has been in a soft platoon at center field with Anthony Gose and to this point, his greatest production had been steals (three). His value will limited by the platoon situation -- he may contribute to your lineup in daily leagues, but only on a match-ups basis.

Davis is starting in center field Sunday against the Indians. Davis and Anthony Gose are in a soft platoon for the Tigers. Gose has started the past four games after Davis got the start on opening day. Davis has yet to record a hit yet this season.

Davis is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Twins. Davis received the Opening Day start in center field for the Tigers, but as a right-handed hitter, he'll frequently sit out against same-handed pitching. With righty Ricky Nolasco on the mound Wednesday, Davis will give way to Anthony Gose, who figures to see the larger share of duties in center field initially by virtue of his standing as a left-handed hitter. By virtue of the platoon arrangement, Davis remains best optimized in daily leagues, since he could be subjected to frequent benching during weeks in which the Tigers face righty-heavy pitching staffs.

Davis will start in center field Opening Day against the Twins, James Schmehl of MLive.com reports. Davis and Anthony Gose form a soft platoon in center field for the Tigers, and manager Brad Ausmus will give the right-handed Davis the start against Twins righty Phil Hughes due to Hughes' reverse splits. Davis will bat leadoff for the Tigers on Monday afternoon.

Davis won't be part of a traditional platoon, seeing some at-bats against right-handers, Chris Iott of MLive.com.Davis actually had a higher OPS against righties in 2014 than potential platoon-mate Anthony Gose, .617 to .604. Of course, the Tigers acquired Gose for a reason that probably goes beyond riding the bench. Gose is just 24, so he'll still get a decent amount of at-bats. Ausmus just seems to be aware that Davis is the safer option for most of the season.

Davis will likely platoon with Anthony Gose in center field to begin the season. It's possible that Davis will lead off against left-handed starters as well, but there's reason to believe that his playing time will dip from his levels a year ago (494 plate appearances). Historically, Davis has hit lefties very well (including a .939 OPS last season), and he's proven capable of make an impact with his speed even without full-time quantities of at-bats.

Davis (groin) will be available to pinch hit for the Tigers, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports. The Tigers might be scared about Davis' groin hindering him on the field and basepaths, but they still probably believe in his ability as a hitter. It will be telling if Brad Ausmus gives Davis the green light to steal if the center fielder makes it on base.

Davis (groin) is out of the lineup for Game 3 of the ALDS against the Orioles. Davis exited each of the first two games early because of a groin injury, and it will keep him out of the starting lineup for Game 3. The injury reportedly bothered him more as the temperature cooled, so it wouldn't be surprising if he doesn't make an appearance in the game unless necessary.

Davis (groin) didn't do anything in Saturday's workout, according to manager Brad Ausmus, George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press reports. The team will give Davis, who was lifted early in each of the first two games of the ALDS due to the groin injury, one final look over Sunday morning to see if he can be an option for Game 3. While Davis said he's going to try to play, Ausmus admitted that the cooler weather in the forecast for Sunday is a concern.

Davis (groin) said he's going to try to play Sunday, the Detroit Free Press reports. Davis was lifted early yet again Friday, after only getting one bag on what probably should have been double in the fourth inning. He suffered a Grade 1 groin strain in the second-to-last game of the regular season, which threatened to keep him off the ALDS roster entirely, but Davis said he's feeling better every day and will going to try to give it another go in Game 3. However, the decision on whether or not he'll play will ultimately be made by manager Brad Ausmus.
