Davis is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Twins. Davis received the Opening Day start in center field for the Tigers, but as a right-handed hitter, he'll frequently sit out against same-handed pitching. With righty Ricky Nolasco on the mound Wednesday, Davis will give way to Anthony Gose, who figures to see the larger share of duties in center field initially by virtue of his standing as a left-handed hitter. By virtue of the platoon arrangement, Davis remains best optimized in daily leagues, since he could be subjected to frequent benching during weeks in which the Tigers face righty-heavy pitching staffs.
