Davis will start in center field and bat leadoff for Wednesday's game against the Indians. Davis will get the start over the slumping Anthony Gose on Wednesday even though right-hander Danny Salazar will get the start for the Indians. Wednesday's start will be Davis' third in four days, and he could see several more in the near future with the Tigers set to face a left-hander each day from Thursday through Saturday.

Davis is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians. Davis was surprisingly in the lineup Saturday as the leadoff hitter against the right-handed Justin Verlander, but he'll revert to his normal bench role against with another righty in Corey Kluber scheduled to take the hill Sunday. The outfielder, who produced a pair of two-hit efforts and picked up a stolen base in the first two games of the series, is only 1-for-6 for his career against Kluber. Anthony Gose draws the starting assignment in center field Sunday.

With lefties starting the first two games of the series for the White Sox, Davis found himself in the leadoff spot for both contests, going 2-for-11 with a stolen base. Davis will head back to the bench Sunday in favor of Anthony Gose, as right-hander Jeff Samardzija takes the hill for Chicago.

Davis (paternity) will start in center field and lead off Friday against the White Sox. Davis spent several days away from the club tending to the birth of his child, but will slot back in Friday to face lefty Jose Quintana. John Danks is due up for Chicago on Saturday, so Davis will likely make it two in a row in place of Anthony Gose in center field.

Davis (paternity) is expected to rejoin the Tigers for Friday's game against the White Sox, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports. Davis is thus in line to miss the maximum of three games that's allowed for a player on the paternity list. In his brief absence, Tyler Collins and Daniel Fields will serve as the backup outfielders.

Davis is being placed on the paternity list Tuesday, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports. Davis has been with his wife since Monday, and he'll miss one-to-three games while on the paternity list. The Tigers are calling up fellow outfielder Daniel Fields to temporarily replace Davis on the 25-man roster.

Davis is not in the lineup Saturday against the Angels. A series of opposing lefty starters kept Davis atop the order for the last three days, but he will give way to Anthony Gose on Saturday with right-hander Jered Weaver on the bump for the Angels. Davis' OPS against left-handed pitching this season is nearly 200 points higher than his mark against right-handers.

Davis will be in the lineup Sunday against the Astros, despite a right-hander being on the mound in Roberto Hernandez. He'll bat seventh and play right field. Davis usually sits in favor of Anthony Gose against right-handed starting pitchers, but manager Brad Ausmus will deploy both outfielders in Sunday's lineup due to Davis' strong career numbers versus Hernandez. In 21 at-bats against the Astros hurler, Davis has nine hits and has also stolen two bags. That kind of historical success could make him a worthy target in daily leagues Sunday.

Davis is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals. Davis drew the start alongside Anthony Gose in Saturday's matchup, but will take a seat with J.D. Martinez back in action Sunday. The speedy outfielder has collected just one hit in his last three games, but is getting on base at a strong .387 rate this season, and is 6-for-7 in steal attempts.
