Davis is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Indians, MLive.com's Chris Iott reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis may have unseated Tyler Collins as the Tigers' regular left fielder on the heels of a three-homer binge during a two-game span last week, but manager Brad Ausmus may still be inclined to mix and match at the position down the stretch. September call-up Steven Moya will be in the lineup in left field for Game 1 of the doubleheader, but expect Davis to play in either left or center field in Game 2.

Davis went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and walkoff sacrifice fly in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was the catalyst of Detroit's offense Tuesday, providing the team's first and last runs of the game. The journeyman outfielder has put up decent numbers from a reserve role this season, swiping 18 bases in under 100 games played.

Davis had a Labor Day to remember, going 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs.
EDGE Analysis
The speedy outfielder hasn't been a regular this season, but has accumulated 30 extra-base hits in part-time duty, including six home runs. He also has added 18 stolen bases, helping to make up for his .244 batting average. Davis has just 11 at-bats in the Tigers' seven games thus far this month.

Davis (finger) is back in the lineup Saturday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Davis had been dealing with a minor finger issue for the better part of the last week, with his only action since Sunday coming as a pinch hitter Wednesday. He's back at his usual center field spot Saturday, and he'll bat leadoff.

Davis (finger) is out of the lineup again Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Davis has not started since Sunday, as he continues to be bothered by a finger injury. He was able to pinch hit Wednesday night, but the team will continue to hold him out of regular action until the discomfort subsides. Anthony Gose and Tyler collins will again start in center field and left field, respectively.

Davis has been bothered by a finger injury the last few games, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis hasn't started a game since Sunday's series finale against the Blue Jays, but was able to come on as a pinch-hitter in Wednesday's 12-1 defeat to the Royals. The Tigers have been rolling with Anthony Gose and Tyler Collins as their primary center and left fielders, respectively, of late, so even once Davis is healthy, he doesn't figure to challenge for much more than the short end of a platoon role.

Davis is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Davis will sit for the second straight day, as manager Brad Ausmus will once again use the left-handed Anthony Gose in center field. Although Gose batted just .169 in the month of June, it appears a soft platoon between him and Davis remains the case moving forward.

Davis is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates
Davis started four consecutive games last week, albeit with three of those coming against left-handed starters. The Tigers will use a slumping Anthony Gose in center field for a second straight day, but Davis could eventually push for more playing time if the 24-year-old doesn't come around.

Davis is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.
Davis was in the lineup the previous three games with the White Sox bringing lefties to the hill, but he also got the start at the top of the order ahead of Anthony Gose in the preceding two games against the Indians when right-handers started. With that in mind, it appears Gose's struggles in recent weeks have allowed Davis to pass him up on the depth chart, perhaps spelling an end to the hard platoon. Davis will pick up a rest Sunday, but if Gose fails to ignite the offense, don't be surprised if Davis is back in there for the Tigers' next game Tuesday against right-handed Pirates ace Gerrit Cole.
