Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two runs and two RBI to help the Diamondbacks to a 7-3 win over the Mets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Pretty much no one is as hot as Goldschmidt these days, as the veteran first baseman has broken out of his early-season slump in resounding fashion by posting a mind-boggling .442/.525/.942 slash line with six home runs over his 52 June at-bats. His .893 OPS on the season is inching much closer to his career mark of .927, and Goldschmidt is putting whatever lingering concerns may have existed regarding his slow start firmly to rest in a hurry with his red-hot hitting.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with two walks and two runs Tuesday in the Diamondbacks' 13-8 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
With six multi-hit outings in his past seven starts, Goldschmidt's batting average has climbed 48 points to a palatable .258. That's still well below his marks from each of the past six seasons, but the recent form he has shown at the plate offers optimism that more positive regression in the category could be coming for the first baseman. With several of the Arizona bats around him in the order also heating up, Goldschmidt has also collected 11 RBI and has scored 11 times over that seven-game stretch.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt capped off a very productive series at Coors Field with another full box score. In total, he recorded four home runs, nine RBI and eight runs in the three-game set. While he won't play every series with benefit of the best hitters park in baseball, he is slugging .896 across the last 15 days.

Goldschmidt went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two RBI and one run scored Wednesday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt continued to show signs of life at the plate and has now recorded seven hits in his past 11 at-bats, including four extra-base hits. He's still hitting just .233/.344/.429 for the season, but he has seen his average rise from .201 to .233 over his past ten games. While it'd be an overreaction to say Goldschmidt is approaching his form of past seasons, this recent stretch is a positive sign that his performance will improve as the season progresses.

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with a double Tuesday in the Diamondbacks' 3-2 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The three knocks tied Goldschmidt's season high and give the first baseman multi-hit performances in three of his last 10 appearances. He's slashing .308/.386/.564 over that stretch while striking out in 22.7 percent of his plate appearances, more than seven points lower than his season rate. It amounts to progress for Goldschmidt amid a down season, but it's still fairly troubling that the 30-year-old has delivered the bulk of his production on the road rather than at Chase Field. Likely due in some part to the humidor that was installed in Arizona this spring, Goldschmidt is hitting just .169/.326/.274 at home for the campaign.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt gave Arizona an early 2-0 lead two batters into the first inning, but it ultimately wouldn't hold up. The 30-year-old is still hitting a meager .209 on the season, but it's possible bad luck is factoring in. His .288 BABIP is by no means unreasonably low, but his lowest mark in a full season over his career is .340, so it'd help if that number starts creeping back up closer to his career average.

Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day off after starting the previous 27 games, a stretch during which he hit just .149/.252/.248 with 38 strikeouts in 115 plate appearances. Daniel Descalso will start at first base and hit cleanup in his stead.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a run and two RBI in Friday's win over Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt hit a two-run triple off starter Sean Manaea in the fourth, and later slashed a double off reliever Ryan Dull in the ninth. Goldschmidt has had a miserable May, hitting just .123 with five RBI against 29 strikeouts. Goldschmidt has a career OPS of .919 but this year is sitting at a career-worst .714. It stands to reason that he'll turn it around eventually, but it's taking a lot longer than expected.

Goldschmidt went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts Friday in the Diamondbacks' 3-1 loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
After Goldschmidt recorded just three hits in 26 at-bats during the Diamondbacks' seven-game homestand to drop his season line in Phoenix to .140/.321/.209, there was some hope that his production might pick up while leaving the humidor-controlled confines of Chase Field. At least for one game, Goldschmidt was unable to snap out of his funk, as the four strikeouts represented a season high. Goldschmidt now owns a 31.6 percent strikeout rate -- a nine-point uptick from 2017 -- across 187 plate appearances on the campaign, tempering some optimism about his batting average recovering dramatically even if his .295 BABIP begins veering closer to his .352 career mark.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts Friday in the Diamondbacks' 3-1 loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt's performance Friday represented one of his better ones of late, illustrating the extent of his slump since the calendar flipped his May. Through the Diamondbacks' first 10 games this month, Goldschmidt is slashing just .079/.205/.105, dropping his season OPS to a career-worst .738 OPS. The installation of the humidor at Chase Field this season was expected to result in some decline in Goldschmidt's power production, but the park effects have been perhaps even more pronounced than anticipated. The first baseman has yet to record a home run in 21 games at home, with his .569 OPS at Chase Field representing a 341-point dropoff from his mark on the road.
